Hydrocodone is a nice medication, but it totally screws my brain up so if this doesn't make sense, take that into consideration.

I went to the Doctor doctor today.  He pulled 22 ccs of fluid out of my knee.  That's like...almost an ounce.  Which is a lot.  A lot a lot.  First he put in...something that ends with caine.  Cadacaine?  Not lidocaine or novacaine.  But ending in caine.  Ana anes  Numbing drug.  Considering I'm walking with a cane, it seems appropriate.  And then he shot it full of cortisone.  And did an ultrasound treatment thingy which is basically covering it with lotion and sliding this warm metal dealio around it for ten minutes or so.  Then I went to the pharmacy and almost yelled at the grocery store employees because they make it a freaking obstacle course to get back to the pharmacy by a direct route.  But I refrained because I am nice like that and don't like to yell at random people just because I am in pain.  Unless I am giving birth or driving and they can't hear me and then all bets are off.  But I wasn't so I didn't.

Got my hydrocodone and came home and took it.  Doing homework is fun when you are stoned on prescription painkillers.  My daughter had to come help since my son had to write complete sentences and I wasn't sure I was capable of making sure of them being those.  I can still spell at least.  Just not the word for the numbing drug.  Which at least I can remember.

I did not write today.  I did not think it would make any sense if I did.  However, I thought a lot about LoF plot stuff.  I think when I am not medicated again it will go fairly quickly.  I am still open to fluff recs.  And people writing me fic. *makes puppy dog eyes*  If they want.  I can still read and laugh.

Stupid boy at school tried to forcefeed my son Cheetos.  He's allergic to six different ingredients in Cheetos.  When T wouldn't eat it the kid stuck it in his sandwich so then he couldn't eat half his sandwich.  Sent email to the teacher.  Kid will be DEALT WITH to my satisfaction or I will bitch all the way up to the superintendent of schools.  What if that kid pulled it with a child who had a peanut allergy?  Gah.  T's are bad enough, but they are not life-threatening.  Still eight hours of hives, headache, stomach cramps, diarrhea and behavioral problems brought on by one Cheeto (past history has shown) is enough, thank you.

Half the kids in Rose's math class were suspended this week.  Maybe she'll be able to concentrate now that the disciplinary problems are out of there.  One can hope.

*hugs*

I hope you get better soon and can sleep at night.

Well, you could always have a sneaky peek at the first part of the fic I'm writing for the smutathon. The first 1,500 words could be considered as fluff, I think, the rest - well... ;)
PM me if you're interested...

I'm almost 160k into a fic I'm writing that one of your beta readers says you'll like. It's still in beta, but I could start sending it to you via email if you like. Just let me know... jenrose at jenrose dot com. If you need fic, and all.

ETA: Just so you have an idea, it's a post 4:13 fixit that turns into a 4:17 fixit, Ten/Rose, Donna/Jack, plus Nine ends up showing up. It has smut. And a wedding. And angst. And a baby, eventually, although dangit, Gallifreyan pregnancies are long. Even when they're not that much longer than the regular ones.

I'm sorry you are in pain.... *hugs* And I'll keep my eye out for fluffy fics that you might like. Any suggestions?
And I so hope that kid gets in major big-time trouble. Because chances are, next time he pulls something like that, it'll be to someone whose allergies are life-threatening and then he'll be in a heap of trouble...

Thank you. I don't know, just sweet and sappy. Yeah, the kid got a major chat from the principal.

Kids can be such little bastards. Though your son's bully has funny timing, considering the entire internet was abuzz about peanut allergies and allergy-based bullying about two days ago. I think the bullies ought to have their lunches limited by whatever allergic ingredient(s) they tried to use against their victim... and have the teacher search their lunch every day to make sure. Kind of a combination "walk a mile in their shoes" and public embarrassment deal.

*hug* Wow, you had 22 excess ccs of fluid in your knee? No wonder you need drugs. I hope you feel better!

Yes, they can. The kid got into quite a bit of trouble. I like your solution! I wish it were possible.

Yeah, 22. Even back in October when I injured it in the first place, he only took out 7 from the one side and 3 from the other. I mean, this was so much more than that it was ridiculous. It still hurts today, but it's got some improvement without all that fluid in there. Plus I'm keeping ice on it and have the meds now so that really helps, too. Thanks.
