Computer Woes

Is anyone else having trouble getting into their yahoo email accounts?  My Internet explorer doesn't even want to load the page.  It's been going on for about three days.  Is it just my computer being stupid or is anyone else not able to acess theirs regularly?

What version of Internet Explorer do you have? If you have one less than version 8 it is possible it may be a compatibility issue. We had someone bring in their computer to be repaired for a similar issue and all it needed was to complete the install of IE 8 for it start working again.

If you still want to try one more thing even though you got Firefox you can try going to Tools- Internet Options- Advance- Reset. That might fix the issue.

Do you have another browser you can try? If another browser can get there, then it's something wrong with IE. If no other browser can get there, then it's either a computer, modem/router or site issue. :S

I first had to add Firefox to my computer when AOL's browser refused to let me sign into any secure site. *eyeroll* Now I stick with Firefox because it works best for me but if it's feeling a bit buggy that day, then I try AOL again to test if it's the browser/computer/modem/router/site problem. I haven't actually used my yahoo address for mail in so long, I have no idea. I only use it for messenger now.

But I would suggest the browser update that everyone else is. That can usually solve the problem. I know I was actually having difficulties viewing something on firefox recently, but that seemed to have been because I hadn't updated it in a while.

You not being able to access your e-mail can be a bad thing for the rest of us.

Hope you can work it out soon. I'm being harassed about part 7. *wink*

I use it for all my LJ interactions and betaing so I need it to work. As far as I can tell IE8 was up to date and it was an issue with compatibility between a YM plug in and IE8. I've downloaded Firefox and it doesn't have the same problem and in fact warned me not to use that particular YM plug in. I've sent you back part 7 now.

Ha. I can't believe people actually use IE. Worst browser for security ever.

Other than that, you can try emptying your cache. I'm not having a problem with it, but then again, I don't log into it very often.

It's called laziness. And also that years ago Firefox gave me a virus with an add on and I sort of went anti-them because of it. Decided to get over it and download it again and no more problems with Yahoo.

Heh. Sorry for doing the exact same thing that I hate that other people do: you complain about a problem, I come in and tell you not to use something. I despise it when people tell someone with a complaint about a PC to 'get a Mac'. It makes me want to throw things.

I'm sorry you got a virus from FF. That seriously sucks, big time. But, now it's all good hopefully. I don't think I could do without FF and all the add-ons of awesome.

bit late to this party, but yes I'm having trouble too, have been for over a week. it varies but at least once per day (sometimes far, far more) I get as far as logging in, or go to refresh it if I'm already logged in, and get booted out and see that irritating "maintenance" error message, which is clearly a lie but it must be their default error message.

Oh and it's not just your browser, as I don't use IE, I've had the problem with Chrome and Opera both though.

after I answered yesterday, it worked fine, for the whole damn day. guess what though, now it wont let me in again *sigh*
