Wrote Fic

I have been having a devil of a time writing oneshots and shorter fics lately.  It seems like the only time I'm in the mood for writing, it's to work on LoF or Stars.  So you can imagine my relief when I finally got a brian wave after listening to a song I heard for the first time today.  And it worked perfectly with the picture prompt I wanted to use for the Bump in the Night ficathon.  I've been trying to write this fic for weeks!  Finished it three days before the extended deadline, so yay me.  And it's not Nine fic for the first time in...ages.

Still seem to be blocked on writing anything smutty.  The smut muses have fled the building and seem to have no intention of coming back. *sighs*  Maybe once all this school crap is taken care of and I can relax again it'll be better.

Oh, well, at least I wrote something, and it's off to beta and hopefully it's as spooky as I wanted it to be.  I don't know, I'm not used to writing scary, slightly horror-edged stuff, so I'm not the best judge of it.  I'm just glad to have it done at this point.

I seem to have the same problem about one-shots, and gets even worse. Luckily, though, the smut muse is very generous these days, and I guess I'd better take advantage of that.

Let's hope that when your daughter's school stuff is settled, everything else will calm down as well.

I feel like I am more like a novel writer than a short story writer. I have always been this way, but for a while there I was really churning out the short stories and then it went away again. *sighs*

I am in awe of how fast you write and how you can juggle multiple projects. I write slow, slow, slowly, and I require a certain amount of immersion in each fic, so that I'm quite single-minded about them. I can only work on one at a time. If I need to put a project aside to work on something else, I can do it, but it requires a lot of mental readjustment for me.

Thank you. Well, some days I write fast. Other days I'm lucky if I get out a 100 words. I can, at times, be single-minded. It really depends on where I am in the fic and how deep into the writing I've gotten. Oh, btw, thanks for that info on the 8th Doctor audio plays. They weren't turning up in the search for me, but I saved the link your husband found so I can find it again when I am ready to order.
