I'm looking to acquire the Eighth Doctor Audio plays starting with Storm Warning, and whilst I can find them on CD through Amazon they don't have them digitally available.  I was really hoping there was some place American that sold them in mp4 format for my iPpod.  Of course iTunes does not.  Does anyone know if they have them like that and if so where?

Big Finish publishes them and they have digital downloads of everything they put out I think. They are not cheap... but this is the page for the 8th Doctor Adventures

They have everything but the Charley Pollard ones for download. They do have them on CD for a lot cheaper than anywhere else if you buy all four on CD, though. But I really want them on mp4. *grumbles* Because I want to take them to the gym with me and listen while I work out. It's incentive. *grumbles some more*

Oh, well, if you're going to be practical about it. *laughs* I just didn't want to pay for shipping, too, because shipping is $10. But it's still, like $25 cheaper for the four plays and that's before you even count the shipping at the other place.

If you're interested, there's some free software to convert multiple mp3s (that you get from ripping a CD) to iPod format. See http://www.freeipodsoftware.com/index.php

Do mp3s not work on iPods anymore??

Of course. But the problem with mp3s is that the ipod regards them as music and does not remember your place. If you're midway through a 17 hour book, the last thing you want is for it to start from scratch next time you start listening. The m4b audiobook format automatically remembers your place and also appears in the "Audiobook" section instead of with the music. Also, if you've ripped a CD the result can be dozens of files! The software above converts mp3 to to a single m4b. I then use Chaptermaster (not freeware) to chapterise it.

Aaah, that makes sense. I just have the massive numbers of mp3s and keep them in their own playlist on my phone, then remember my chapter and play from there unshuffled. I'm not an Apple person, but in that, at least they seem to have a good idea.

I'm no help; we have them all on CD from years ago, but I'd love to hear your thoughts as you listen to them. Especially let me know when you get to "The Chimes of Midnight," and "Seasons of Fear." And *definitely* when you get to "Neverland."

OK, I mentioned this to Husband and he got curious and took a look...I'm not sure what you're looking at, but the Eighth Doctor ones are, in fact, available for download. Here's a link, "Storm Warning" starts at #16:
