Oh, Borders.  *sighs*  You make me want to turn in my discount book card.  Why do you think that I, as an adult, would want to buy this?

NEW From the Author That Brought You Super Diaper Baby!

Could be worse. Could be panties with Edward Cullen's face on the crotch.

I really wish I was making that up. They also have ones with Jacob on them as well as a 'recreation' of Bella's womb, complete with baby.

NO WAY! That is so much more awful than Edward's face anywhere.

I think they're equal levels of horror actually. But I really wish I was making that up. *Sighs* The things you learn on [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants

Oh some Twilight fans have taken their obsession several steps further. Sparkling bedazzled vaginas anyone?

I really wish I was making THAT one up!

Blame [livejournal.com profile] shinyopals for the fact that I know that one. Could have gone through life not knowning that fact. It's the chief reason I claim that Twilight fans scare the hell out of me.

Yeah.... I've read the first two books, and I really don't see what the big deal is. The fact that people are that obsessed is more than just a bit scary...

Even worse? Re-usable panty liners with Edwards face on them.

I wish to the gods that I was joking.

What are the marketing people thinking? Heck, what is Stephenie Meyer thinking? If I had a brand I would never allow that sort of abuse of it.

To be fair, I don't think SMeyer knows about the panty liners, what with them being on Etsy.

You have to consider the source material. It's a bit rubbish. If she is aware, SMeyer may be allowing these because she knows that one day the Twihards will see through the sparkle haze to the poor grammar and abusive relationships that the book truly is.

One can only hope because my nephew is a Twilight fan and if I ever catch him doing even a hint of the stuff Edward pulls there will be consequences.

*sigh* I just got this in my email as well. So if you buy two of these unspeakable books, you are given the privilege of wasting even MORE money on an equally unspeakable t-shirt that no one in their right mind would be caught dead wearing?

I second that crimedoc1, i got it on my yahoo a bit ago. Although on a funny point, my 7 and 12 year old saw the email and they said they wouldn't read those books if you paid them. I couldn.t help but laugh at that. It's pretty bad when kids dont even like it lol :P

What happened to kids reading quality literature? Like the classics?

Reading the classics seems to have died out along with the Wishbone series. :(
