I managed to do ten laps at the pool today. That's three more than my best before going on vacation. I, er...didn't do anything else though. No Cybex, no bike, no rowing machine, no treadmill. I really need to make that appointment with a trainer. My own ability to push myself in the case of exercise appears to be very, very finite. I feel good though, from the exercise I did do and I managed to swim all ten laps without stopping which is a huge amount of progress, too, because before vacation I paused for a couple minutes in the middle of lap four when all I did was seven laps. Baby steps.
I got LoF back from both betas so I'll make the corrections and post that after supper. I made salmon in foil packets in the crockpot. It's supposed to take 3 hours on low. We'll see. Also making corn on the cob (microwaved) that we bought at this farm stand in Mary Hill. We stopped purely for the sign. Well, and for the ice, but everything looked so good.

We also got some huckleberry jam there so we are having that on homemade buttermilk biscuits as well as some fresh kohlrabi from Mom's garden. Yummy.

Date: 2010-08-09 03:13 am (UTC)I had to do a double take on this sentence. At first glance I thought it said no cybersex, no bike... Uh yeah. I lulz alot once I reread it. ;)
I'm loving the sign too and would have stopped as well to check it out and pick up a few things. I'm a good consumer like that and seem to be impressed with the pretty colors and stuff. I'm glad I'm not the only one out there...
Salmon wrapped in foil and cooked in the crockpot? How did it turn out? Would you share the recipe and prep? I usually cook salmon fillets in foil packets with veggies stacked on top in the oven. I'm curious.

Date: 2010-08-09 06:48 pm (UTC)Recipe
--2 largish pieces of salmon (I used about a pound and a half)
--2 T brown sugar
--1 t paprika
--1 t cumin
--1/2 t crushed garlic
--1/2 t oregano
--1/2 t kosher salt
--1/8 t red pepper
--aluminum foil
Combine all spices and sugar and rub on fish. Wrap in packet, put in a dry crockpot. If you like it spicier you can use up to 1/2 t red pepper but my kids find that too hot.
