TV Meme--Day 1
Jun. 1st, 2010 06:56 pmDarn it, I wasn't going to do this, but I'm giving in because I'm finding it so interesting to read everyone else's choices.
Day 01 - A show that should never have been canceled
"Nowhere Man is the tale of a photojournalist named Thomas Veil. After leaving to use the restroom while out to dinner with his wife, Tom returns to find that his life has been "erased." His wife does not recognize him and is living with another man. His ATM cards no longer work. His best friend turns up dead. His mother was previously recovering from a stroke, so she is incapable of confirming his existence. In the course of a single evening, every trace of Tom's identity has been erased."--according to Wiki
This show was such an intensive thriller and it deserved far more than only one season. Bruce Greenwood was an amazing actor, which considering he was the only credited cast member (everyone else guest starred) is a very good thing. He had to carry the entire concept on his own shoulders and he did an incredible job of it. I loved watching Tom struggle to figure out why this had happened to him and his slowly dawning horror as he figures out he just might have done it to himself, or was that simply another layer in the conspiracy? It could have gone on for years, though they did try to wrap things up and not leave it hanging. I never quite bought the rush job and wish to this day it had been allowed to carry the story out over the course of at least five seasons. It deserved no less.
Runner up would be Strange Luck.

Date: 2010-06-02 03:54 am (UTC)I tried to get into the show, and I just couldn't. Maybe I just wasn't ready for this kind of sci - fi, but it was really just a difficult concept for me to swallow. Or maybe it just freaked me out too much. Like you said, maybe if it had more seasons I could have gotten into the show.
