I'm not actually embarrassed by anything in my music library.  My tastes range from Dvorak's New World Symphony to Alison Krause and Union Station to Kelly Clarkson to Simple Plan to Bon Jovi to Air Supply to David Bowie and Pet Shop Boys.  I'm not even ashamed of my Tiffany album from high school, though I'm aware that I should be. *laughs*  I listen to whatever I'm in the mood for and don't hide it from anybody.

I agree, my own collection is just as eclectic if not even more so. I've got stuff from hard rock to classical to jazz to broadway musicals, soft rock, 80's and 90's pop and new age trance and folk music. I've even listened to opera on occasion. I do tend toward the less popular stuff that make people shake their head at me but I'm not offended. I'm my own person and I like what I like. Not to mention I just have to think of that clip on youtube with David Tennant bopping up and down with the Proclaimers next to him with the totally giddy look of a fanboy and it just makes you smile because he's obviously having the time of his life and that's all that matters when it comes to music and musical idols.

I don't get the shame of such a thing if you own them. Why do you have something, if you don't like it? Such reasoning escapes me.

I'm with you. There is nothing on my iPod I'm ashamed of, not even Vanilla Ice.
