Or Welshpick, really, I guess.

What do you call the head administrator of a city?  What we would call a mayor here.  And what do you call the place where administration takes place?  Ours is town hall.

Town Hall is right, usually, but some have different names. And chief councillor, or Council Leader. There is a mayor, but as yet London's as yet the only place with an administrative mayor. Lord Mayor (for Cardiff) or Mayor is a ceremonial position - it is a councillor but they are politically neutral while they are in office (for a year, I think). Margaret (Blon) would have been Council Leader.

Yeah, that sounds like what I need. The guy who actually runs stuff and is in charge of the city stuff, who would be in charge during an evacuation. Thanks.
