A Child is Dead

This happened five houses away in our little development.  We had reporters knocking on our door this morning.  That's how we found out.  They're still down there blocking half the road.  She and my daughter used to be pretty good friends in elementary school, but I became uncomfortable letting her hang out there.  My daughter has been in tears all day.  Even my son is having a hard time with it.  I just feel so numb.  She was only fourteen.  It shouldn't happen here.  It shouldn't happen anywhere.  We're moving this weekend.  It can't come too soon.

Rest in peace, Felicity.  You didn't deserve this.
