amberfocus: (Christmas Present TARDIS--Don't Take)

I went to my one week post surgery follow-up appointment today. Everything is healing nicely, but the Doctor wants to send me to physical therapy because my range of motion is still limited more than he would like it to be at this point. I have been using one crutch instead of two for the past three days and now he wants me to try small distances without a crutch. I did a bit, but it's still quite weak so I'll have to build up the strength in it again. It's still swollen so I'm not through with elevation and ice packs just yet. I'm still in a fair bit of pain, but I'm down to one pain pill during the day. I still take two at bedtime though, because if I don't I wake up with raging pain.

I hope to get back to writing in a few more days as the pain lessens more and more. I miss it, but right now simply don't have the focus. I started reading A Sky Without Zeppelins. I've never actually reread it straight through. I've reread chapters and chunks, but I've never reread the whole thing since I wrote it. It gives me silly grins and giggles. I don't think I realized quite how fluffy it was in the beginning. It's doing wonders to improve my spirits and I'm only on chapter six. I'd forgotten how happy my happy/happy fic makes me. Though I will finish Body Language before working on Stars. I left the poor Doctor blinded and I really need to fix that!

I'm so glad to hear you're making progress. I hope it continues to get better.

*big hugs for you*

So glad you're getting better! And I hope the pain starts to subside soon. I've found Advil Liqui-Gels work really well at dulling pain, and they work quickly because of the gelcaps. They may help for when you have to go off the pain meds completely. But hang in there! It'll get better, I promise!

I am so glad that Zeppelins is making you as happy now as it made me when I read it. You deserve that.

Good luck with the long slow road to recovery.

Glad you're feeling better. Zepplins has the same effect on me...thus why I printed it out. I can read it anywhere and don't need a computer :)

Yay! Glad you are feeling a bit better. *Big huggies* Zeppelins is definitely a happy-making fic, which is why it is on my pda - available for reading anytime.

IMHO, PT is also known as personal torture but physical therapists are amazingly terrific people and PT really does help. Of course, one is SUPPOSED to continue doing the exercises at home, not just at therapy, but.... *grin*

And another "You know you watch too much DW when..." moment: when you said "the Doctor wants to send me to physical therapy..." I at first read that as The Doctor (as opposed to your physician) and had a fleeting moment of picturing you in the TARDIS infirmary or something. I am so doomed. :-)

Hope you're feeling better soon.

And yes, you really can't leave poor Nine blind for long. Please fix him soon?
