Update

It's been a long day.  The good news is that Victoria is now home from the hospital and doing pretty well.  She's tired and in pain but in remarkably good spirits.  The bad news is I got the results from my MRI and it is indeed an ACL tear and damanged cartilege.  So the doctor was going to set up an appointment with a specialist and then call me back with the info but I never heard back from him again today so I'll have to call on Monday...and I hate talking on the phone.  I'm slightly phobic about it if it's not Chris, Mom, or MIL.  And by slightly I mean a lot.  I hate initiating phone calls.  Put a keyboard in front of me and I'm great.  Put a talkie device to my ear and not so much.

Oh, well.  So I've finished the latest Crossing Boundaries story so I'm going to focus on Hunger Moon the rest of this week and next.  I'd really like to get it finished before I do any more serious work on A Sky Without Stars.  I think I can finish it this month if I don't let myself get distracted by oneshots and the like.  I'm taking a break from writing birthday fics for a while.  I might do drabbles but I don't know.  I just really want to focus on the epics for a while.  I've got so many open stories and I hate that.  I've got a while before the next ficathon fic is due, so I can really focus on HM.

Ouch! Happy Victoria is home & mending, but I am very, very sorry about your ACL news! I hope they can fix you up quickly! *hugs*

I'm sorry to hear it's an ACL tear, but the good news is the surgery for that can be done arthroscopically, so at least you won't have to go under the knife in a big way. And it's a reasonably fast recovery.

Hang in there -- I know it's incredibly painful. STILL waiting for someone to tap my knee & see what's going on. They cancelled my appointment today and moved it to Monday. Two frakking weeks now. Arg.

*hugs* Let us know how it goes & when you get scheduled for surgery.

Ouch! That's gonna hurt. I did the same thing when I was 14 playing netball. Mine didn't clear up with a brace and I had to have an orthroscopy where they fixed it. I honestly don't think they did a very good job because I still get twinges in it and it's over 25 years ago now. Plus the right side of my left knee (where they went in) has nerve damage and it is numb. Mind you I suppose keyhole has moved on in the last 25 years.

Hope they get you up on your feet soon, but for now, use a brace and don't put your weight on it without one, you will only make it worse.

Really, you're phone phobic? I thought I was the only one. Everyone I know thinks I'm crazy. I once interned in a news room. It was the worst job ever. I was physically sick every day I went to work. Good that I learned it young I suppose. I've learned how to work around but sometimes I feel like the Internet was made just fo me. I loved it when my doctor went to an online appointment system.
