CoT Reviews Stuff
Jan. 24th, 2009 12:28 pmI just signed up for my second set of three fics to review for the Children of Time Awards Reviews for
azriona's new community
cot_reviews.
One of them is very, very long and I've not read it before so it'll take most of my free reading time this next week, but since I was very impressed with the one other fic I'd read by this author (which also happened to be one I reviewed) I thought 28 chapters with pretty high word counts was worth reading. I'm a bit bummed that I can't review
lillibetm3's Time is Not a Straight Line because I beta'd a few of the chapters.
Most of what I'm reviewing falls into the smut category with one or two rare exceptions for authors I particularly like reading. It might not necessarily take a smut writer to review smut well, but I think it helps because we tend to be more comfortable talking about the material and can shade in the subtle differences between smut, erotica, and flat out down and dirty porn.
Of course I'm still working on writing my own fics as well, so I'm not about to overwhelm myself with reviewing, but it is nice to help out
azriona so she doesn't get so overwhelmed herself or burnt out this time around. There's quite a few of us helping out with it now, but I'm sure she'd be happy to take more volunteers because there is a massive amount of reviewing to do this round.
