On Frustration
Apr. 19th, 2008 04:29 amUrgh. Okay, I might have overstated things when I thought I'd get the next chapter of Frustration up by morning. Well, I would do, but Nine's turned into a romantic sop on me and started fantasizing about having kids with Rose and that is so not where I'm trying to go with this at the moment, so I'll have to scrap it and try again. You'd think he was Ten what with trying to turn it into baby!fic like that!

Oi! I heard that! *mutters Ten*
Shut up, you know it's true. Look at Time Eternal and tell me that's not all you and Rose do is make the time babies.

*Ten goes silent and decides to try for twins*

I want the time babies *insists Nine*
*glares at Nine*

Nine ignores me and keeps picturing a blond moppet with steel blue eyes calling him Da and swinging her around the console room.
Geesh. Get a grip man. Find your inner angst!

*Nine pouts* Don't want angst.

Want Rooooose!
And maybe I'll keep the blue-eyed blond moppet for atl!Nine to fantasize about.

*alt!Nine nods eagerly* then thinks about practicing making said moppet with his Rose every single day, even though it's supposed to be five years before he can get her pregnant, that's okay,

they can use the practice, practice is good
Shakes head at lusty!alt!Nine

*regular Nine sulks* How come he gets everything? I just want Rose to luuurrrve me.
Oh, suck it up, Nine. She does love you, just...we're angsting our way there, okay?

*wibbles*

*pets Nine

who starts to purr* You can see the problem?

Date: 2008-04-22 06:32 pm (UTC)The strawberry-blonde dye job is a bit distancing - although it looks good and natural, close to his natural colour when he was younger, anyway. I never felt that West was evil, I felt like he was horribly, horribly pragmatic. And I loved the way that CE emphasized the homoerotic aspects (to the pleased surprise of the writer and director, apparently), not for prurient reasons but because it emphasized just how pragmatic he was. He had no interest in the women himself.
While I would have loved a second series of Who, from everything I've seen and heard, it really broke his health. And to be honest, I don't think the writing held up in S2, which would have made him even more miserable. Heroes - his impact on that is really extraordinary, considering it's about 15 minutes total screentime, and how much everyone wants him back. And I love how I have American friends who say, "That Christopher Eccleston - he's so funny!" I've heard a rumour about an appearance on another big American tv show, but only in a very dubious context - however, if true would be amazing.
If you like the Ninth Doctor (and I know you do!), I highly recommend Revengers Tragedy. It's a bizarre play and an even more bizarre film, but I love Alex Cox to bits and Vindici is a wonderful, very "Nine-ish" tragic character. I also love Death and the Compass (as you can see from my icon), but that's a very, very avant-garde film. Eccleston and Cox work together beautifully, but their stuff is far from mainstream!

The first year had a shorter schedule, something like six months, and I think they went to the nine months' schedule because they figured if they broke a marathon runner, anyone else wouldn't have a chance! (Then again, I think he tends to work very hard.)
The rumour I heard was that he might show up in Lost. It would seem stupid except for the fact that the guys who created that and the guys who do Heroes are great friends, and there have been some playful little crossovers of things like airline names, series of numbers, etc. And there is a British wing to the story.
