Nothing is capturing my imagination tonight.  Nothing.  It's driving me right up a wall.  I keep looking at all those prompts and my imagination sparks for two seconds and then fizzles out and dies.  I hate this.

Maybe you just need to step away from writing for a few days? Maybe just recharge the batteries for a bit?

Perhaps take a break from being an author and find something to read for a day or two instead?

This week I have been finding inspiration in these two different versions of All My Little Words by Magnetic Fields. The 2nd one is the song played on a Game Boy & sung by Tom Milsom. It was posted by brivinex, and it is brilliant.

That, and I am re-reading all the Peter Wimsey mysteries...

I agree with the sentiments here. Sometimes the more you try to fight through it, the worse it gets.

I agree with the others. It's a horrible feeling, and so I think a break will do you good.

The Little Sisters send warm greetings and join with all here in saying that you should rest, meditate and find oneness with your muse. Either that or sleep, drink and eat chocolate. Thats what we'll all be doing! May the GUH be with you.

*big hugs* It sounds like you need some battery-rechargin' in my expert *cough* opinion. ;) I know that I always find when things like that happen to me, just continuing to beat my head against the wall never produces a story, just a headache. ;) But the second I say to myself, "Okay, I'm not even going to try to write something for an entire week!" then the very next day or so something pops up and just will not wait to be written. ;) So I'd say give yourself permission to take some time off and then wait for it to come back to you and that'll probably be the quickest way through this. ;)

Also, I recommend chocolate. *nods* ;) ♥!

Hmm... well, you could take a bit of a writing break. Sometimes if you tell yourself that you are absolutely NOT allowed to write anything at all tomorrow, the reverse psychology will have your muse panting to get back to work. ;-)

Or you could go back to one of your stories where you have a clearer idea of where it is going. Hunger Moon maybe? Or maybe the rewrite of Just Another Shop Girl?

*sends chocolate*
