What's the name of an overcommercialized hotel chain in Scotland?

Replying to you from the extremely Scottish American Southwest, I can only tell you what I have found on line: If you mean over commercialized in the the Big Chain way, I found a website for Ramada Jarvis: http://www.ramadajarvis.co.uk/default.aspx?partner=buyat
"ramada logoQuality hotels in Ayr, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Perth. Stay in stylish city hotels with health and leisure facilities on-site or escape to the country at one of the Ramada Country Collection hotels. Ramada Jarvis hotels are suitable for business trips, city breaks, weekends away or longer holidays. Check out their Leisure Packages for holiday ideas."

Another chain: http://www.apexhotels.co.uk/ "Contemporary four star City Hotels, located in Edinburgh and Dundee offering a wide variety of packages and promotions for leisure travellers. The new City Quay in Dundee features a state of the art Spa facility. In addition to the informal Metro Restaurant, all hotels offer banqueting and conference facilities."

At the other end of the spectrum I think this sounds like it might be fun: http://www.venlaw.co.uk/ "Castle Venlaw Hotel in Peebles, Scotland, a luxury boutique hotel set in the heart of the beautiful Scottish Borders, just 22 miles from the historic city of Edinburgh.

Built in 1742, this stunning historic property in the Scottish Borders has been operating as a country boutique hotel since 1949...Nestled in some 12 acres of woodlands, the Castle Hotel's private gardens extend onto the famous and well kept Venlaw Woods which boasts a beautifully designed tree trail. Our guests are thus able to enjoy the service, fine cuisine and elegance of the Castle Hotel's interiors alongside the stunning countryside views and walks...each of our 12 bedrooms are individually appointed and styled. Our 3 four-poster rooms and superb romantic suite (often used by those couples using the Castle Hotel as their exclusive use wedding venue) are a perfect choice for any occasion.

All of our guests are invited to relax in our warm and inviting Library Bar with its log fire and wonderful views over the grounds. The Library Bar is set in one of the Castle's turrets...

There's your standard hotel chains; Hilton, Marriott, Apex, Ibis and the considerably less expensive Premier Inn and Travelodge.

Travelodge is definitely very commercialized and it's cheapness makes it the butt of many UK jokes. However, the places are really nice for the money with large rooms available and with WIFI which works in Wales and England, but in Scotland it is a bit iffy.

The one in Stirling is the strangest one we've stayed at because it is in the motorway service area outside town and next to a tourist shop and a station with a food court.
