Update on My Hand

I just wanted to post a brief update on how I'm doing.  The fall out on my hand injury is that I tore two tendons and that I'm not allowed to type with my left hand for three weeks.  That's three weeks from today and not three weeks from the day I injured it.  *pouts*  That cuts my typing speed from 70 words per minute to about 15.  I did get about halfway through writing the 15,000 word fic for Wiggie that she won during the auction before the injury happened.  I may work on that a bit with my right hand.  Depends on how much I'm driven, really.  Which likely won't be too much as I'm in a fair amount of pain still.

Victoria has kindly offered to transcribe any Zeppelins I care to dictate on my microrecorder.  I had to giggle at her "selflessness." She's always been a bit pouty that Amy is the primary beta on that story so gets to read the chapters first.  Is it my fault she fell in love and got busy with her life? *grins*

My spirits are good.  So are my painkillers.  Chris comes home on Thursday so I just need to get through three more days before I can collapse.  Well, not really collapse but not have 24/7 responsibility for everything either.  Thursday cannot come soon enough.

You'll get faster at one-handed typing. I'm decent at it myself due to the fact that my parrot likes to sleep in my hand. And all those days lazing on my side with my laptop. And then, when you get good, it looks awesome.

Oh you poor thing!! :( Still 15 words a minute isn't bad for one hand - i know people who can only manage that with two hands!!

Oh goodness, that is not fun news. You take care of yourself! Your adoring fans (myself included) will just have to look at this as an exercise in patience. It's said that's a virtue and all. ;)
