A/N:  Happy Birthday, Crimedoc1.  Set towards the end of season 2.

 

 

 

There’s something about Rose’s smile that he’s never been able to resist. Maybe it’s the fact that when she smiles at him it’s different than the smiles she directs at others. Maybe it’s the fact that he can forget the weight of being the last of his kind and his responsibility to the universe at large when she turns it on him. Maybe it’s the way it takes over her entire face and lights her eyes with her sheer joy at being with him, happy and oh, so alive. Mostly it’s because her smile is followed now by her kiss.
