Still Sick, Still Writing

Chapter 3 of Hunger Moon is coming along now.  I threw out what I had and started over.  Fevers don't necessarily make for coherent story-telling.  I hope to have the chapter finished today...  I slept great last night but this cold is still making me super tired.  I will be so glad when spring really gets here.  A good portion of the snow melted but it's not gone completely.  The sun's been lovely today even if there isn't any warmth to it.  Oh, I went back and reread the first several chapters of Wolf Moon and it looks like I did not give Rose's brother a name yet and oh, yeah, he's twins.  I think a boy and a girl if I remember right.  I'm going to read a bit further and make sure I didn't name him something, I remember her comparing her brother to the Doctor at one point when he was doing something so it could be.  I'm thinking of Jack and Petra, after their mum and dad.

I watched The Second Coming.  I really liked seeing Christopher Eccleston playing a somewhat geeky, unsure, yet all powerful character like that.  He is just really all kinds of charming.  It was a weird premise for a movie and probably sacrilegious, too.  I'm still trying to decide.  It didn't offend me and it make me think, even if I disagreed with some of it philosophically.  I could definitely tell it was written by Russell T. Davies, though.  He kind of has a stamp he leaves on his stuff.  And the outtake with CE running around in nothing but a sock that goes down to his knees on his privates is worth getting it for that alone. *laughs*  It had the guy who played Clive in Rose in it, too and I'm pretty sure one of the kitchen workers was Lynda with a Y from Bad Wolf/PoTW.  Russell's stuff seems to recycle actors, from what I've seen because they keep popping up in Doctor Who.

Bit boring of an update really.  That kind of day.  Now off to pick up my children and then back home to hopefully finish off this chapter.

I hope you feel better. I'm feeling a bit sick myself. 3rd or 4th time this year and that's not the norm for me considering I get sick maybe once every 2-3 years!

It's been a horrible year for getting sick. I feel like I have been more on than off since before Christmas. I catch a lot anyway because the kids are forever bringing illness home from school and I'm sure DH brings it home from all his time in airplanes, too (though he seldom catches stuff, he's definitely a carrier). But this has been a particularly bad season.

I take the bus all the time so I guess I can see that's why I'd get sick, but about 2 months ago I started taking vitamins and then bam, I get sick. My mom said the vitamins don't keep me from getting sick, it just lessens the amount of time I'm sick.

one day is too many days for me to be sick!

and if I go through with the flight attendant training and get hired, my sickness chances are going to increase big time!

I take vitamins but I don't really notice a difference. I think I'm just exposed too much by the kids.

I'm sorry you're still feeling bad - fevers can be draining of brainpower and musclepower, which is a nasty double whammy. Chicken soup with tom yum chili paste is a good sinus clearer, too!

The Second Coming is wonderful - I have to admit, everything else RTD has done tends to pale in comparison to me. It's not perfect, but it's ambitious and has the courage of its convictions and yet doubts when it should. And both CE and Lesley Sharp are so emotionally brave in their portrayals. Steve is infuriating, and you can tell she's probably always loved him, but you can still see why she's holding back. I think it's brilliant that only five minutes into the first episode when they kiss, you're already thinking, "It's about bloody time!" Still, have words ever cut deeper than "I was hoping for better"?

I also wanted to comment just because I think it's wonderfully disturbing that you have a Gary/Maria icon. I've been meaning to comment on it for ages, but keep getting distracted by the stories.

Well, yes, it's Gary and Maria but I'm pretending it's Alt!Nine and Rose because it looks like her jawline! *grins*

It was a wonderful moment when they did kiss, so awkward and sweet.

I hope you are feeling better, and I know this because I had my husband show me how to copy stories to file so I could keep them in the PC in the event I ever have the internet go down. I love your stuff, among others, so I needed to find a way to save, and then I spent most of yesterday rereading the entire story. You did make them twins and their names were Kyle and Sarah. It was chapter eight.
