You all still use pounds and not kilograms for non-scientific measurement in the U.K., right?

Agreeing with [livejournal.com profile] doctorsdiva above, but it can also depend on age. I'm of Rose's generation and I think of my weight in either kilos or stone.

If I was cooking or buying food, I'd think in kilos and grams because when I grew up that was how it was taught in schools. My mum would use pounds and ounces.

Ah, well, it's going for the weight of Reinette's dress, so I think that pounds will work fine here. Thanks.

Whoah, whoah, whoah! Back up there horsey!

Why would you possibly need to know how to express the weight of Reinette's dress? In what situation could you possibly conjure there be a need to talk about the weight of Reinette's dress, and not the combined weight of Reinette AND her clothing together. Which STAY ON HER!!!

Damn you. I'm going to have to read the next chapter of Forgotten squint-peeking from behind my hands, aren't I?

*laughs* So the general consensus is that you don't want Reinette taking her dress off?

Perhaps it's not as bad as you think. Perhaps it's that the dress is so damn heavy it made her trip and fall on the Doctor's lips?
