amberfocus: (Nine Kissing Rose)
[personal profile] amberfocus

I think I found the best Nine/Rose vid on youtube ever today.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGyFUNPsY5c  So perfectly edited and matching the music and emotionally it packs a punch and makes me happy to see the depth of their relationship conveyed this way, but very sad at the same time.  It was beautiful.

Yesterday was so long.  I'd forgotten how long game days can be at the soccer park.  At least I didn't forget how bloody cold they can be.  I packed blankets and we sure needed them.  The wind just rips through you there in the early part of the spring season.  The games went fairly well.  Tobais' team lost but they held it together fairly well.  The boys need to learn to be a bit more agressive in following the ball.  They tend to just kick it and watch it go.  The team we were playing had some "taught" bad habits that I've seen before at about this grade level.  Ankle snaking is the worst.  That gets trounced on by about the 4th or 5th grade, but it always seems like the refs are not expecting it at the younger levels and so don't watch for it.  And that's where it frequently crops up.

Ankle snaking is when the coach teaches a kid how to trip another kid on the soccer field but make it seem like an accident.  You place your ankle just inside the other kid;s and then stop sharply.  The other kid, of course, trips and you now have possession of the ball.  If caught, you have to sit out the rest of the game.  If caught.  These are not habits the kids pick up on their own and it comes out of the same two districts every single time I've seen it.  Very frustrating because it's cheating and I don't like seeing it, especially with ages 7 to 9.  It teaches them bad sportsmanship.

Rose's team won 8 to 0.  Seems like a slaughter but it wasn't really.  The other team fought hard, they just didn't have a passing game or play their positions and you can't win like that.  I felt sorry for the other team to a certain extent, but of course, I'm thrilled that our girls started off the season so well.

I'm planning on spending much time today writing.  I'm so close to finishing Wolf Moon and it feels like a huge accomplishment.  It also feels kind of sad to me that it's almost over.  I don't want to say good-bye to it.  I love it.  Oh, I know the story will continue in the sequel Hunger Moon, but...it's like letting go of a friend who's moving away.  You can always visit, but it's not the same as living with them in your life on a daily basis.

The opening scene for Hunger Moon came into my head last night.  It really made me smile.  It's from the Alt!TARDIS' point of view.  And she's a bit indignant.  I hope the chapter turns out funny.  It ought to be, but it's hard to tell with things like that.

I'm going to try to finish up the rewrite of Take it Back today.  I hope to get to Wolf Moon as well, but I don't know.  Depends on which one wants to do the driving.

I don't want to say good-bye to it. I love it." -- I'm sure going to miss this story, too. It's the start of a wonderful, wonderful series of stories, and lays the foundation for all that come after. I'm especially fond of the "first meet" of the Alt!Doctor & Rose; great beginning to a great story, sigh!

Wolf Moon did not end up in the driver's seat. I think it's hiding in the trunk of the car, actually. Take it Back really took over and it grew so large LJ made me divide it into two chapters. But I've posted them both.

Oh, well, tomorrow I have a lot of time to work on it as the kids will be in school. Our spring break isn't until April, so two weeks to go. I think it was them constantly bugging me between feedings and waterings today (it poured so no playing outside) and oh, yeah, trying to beat the heck out of each other all day long that made it hard to focus on Wolf Moon. Ah, the joys of parenthood.

Well, I always vote for Wolf Moon, 'cause I'm addicted to it, lol! ;) I know what you mean about being sad to see it come to an end, though. I find the analogy of a friend moving away to be very true! But I'm so glad you already have Hunger Moon gearing up to go (I so love Alt!TARDIS! ;) ).

Ooo, a vid rec! Thanks, I'm always on the lookout for more Nine/Rose vids! I don't know if you like AU types of vids or if you prefer canon only (or if you even like watching vids that much at all, lol! ;) ) but I can rec some really lovely Nine/Rose ones. Now that I think about it, I might as well do a vid rec post and just lob everything I really love in there! ;)

Happy Easter, if you celebrate it, by the way! Happy Weekend Day of Writing, if nothing else! ;) *hugs* ♥!

I love AU type vids and canon vids both. One of my favorite ones has an evil Rose killing Nine. Not that I'd ever want that to happen but it was well done. That and there's one of Rose/Bad Wolf and Sylar from Heroes that is really good, too.

I'd love to see your rec's. I keep an eye on your journal anyway because I love your picspams so much. The Winchester boys, the Doctor and Rose, Torchwood, and Jessica Alba, what's not to like?

I know how you feel about "Wolf Moon"--whenever I finish a long story like "Seed Pearls" or "Out of Joint," there's a sense of loss as well as accomplishment. Here's hoping you channel that feeling into the sequel! I'm glad you're finishing up "Take It Back" as well, as I'm eager to see how you handle the fallout of the second chapter.

Heck, I felt like that after reading Out of Joint. Loss because it was over and accomplishment that I'd read the whole thing in such a short amount of time! *grins* Though waiting for that last chapter was a bear...

I hope Take it Back works better now. I had to split chapter 3 into chapters 3 and 4 because it grew really big with all the added stuff and I couldn't resist changing the ending. But I posted them both tonight.

Congrats on nearly finishing such an epic sized story - I always seem to fall down, perhaps I should just take my time, of course, my other problem is I let myself get caught up in the excitement of the series, esp at this time of the year!

Thank you. I never used to be able to finish anything. It took me a long time. I've been lucky with DW. It seems to finish itself for me. I wish it were that easy for other people, too.

I have to agree. I am addicted to Wolf Moon and will miss it. But at least I can always access it and am so looking forward to the next step in the story. Thanks for the link to the Nine/Rose vid. I have downloaded so many Doctor/Rose videos from youtube. I have this software that lets me grab it from youtube and formats it so that I can put it in my Zune(Ipod type MP3 video player for those who haven't heard of it) and then I can play the videos anywhere. I currently have about 20 Doctor/Rose videos in there. I love it. I also have Time Crash in there. I have watched that one so many times. I love it.
I hope everyone is having a pleasant Easter and weekend.
I look forward to the next chapter of Wolf Moon. In the meantime, I think I'll reread 44.

Thanks again for a brilliant story.

*laughs* Thanks and you're welcome. Hopefully I will be able to finish chapter 45 tomorrow. It's being quite difficult at the moment, but now I'm done with Take it Back so hopefully that frees up headspace. Of course, my mind is now saying, oh go finish Repercussions...Wolf Moon isn't ready yet. *sighs*

I just saw the Nine/Rose vid on YouTube that you kindly brought to everyone's attention, and it was great. The song really fit & I liked it so much, that I downloaded it ("Never Alone" by Barlow Girls.)

Hopefully awaiting the next chapter of Wolf Moon *does hopeful dance of impatience*, and Happy Easter evening! :O)

It's not done yet. It's being difficult. But I'll have the new chapter three of Take it Back up within the hour and it's the one that has the most significant changes in it of the revamp.

Oh, goody; a new chapter in Take it Back! *does Happy New Chapter dance* I'll wait up for it (maybe I'll be the first to comment!)

Actually, two. LJ made me split it in half because it got so big.

I've loved that song since I first heard it on a Harry Potter vid done by Sirrah78 (fantastic by the way). There's another song by BarlowGirl called Porcelain Heart that is pretty amazing, too and very Doctor Whoish to me. It's on youtube. Think I first saw that on a Dramione vid. But it's a lovely song.

Wow; I just downloaded the song, it's playing as I'm writing to thank you for suggesting it! It is SO Doctor Whoish! I'm going to see what else is available.

Very Enya-ish sounding, without the otherworldliness edge. :O)

I didn't even realize it but she's actually a contemporary Christian singer. Figured it out when I was looking up some of her other songs. But those two, Never Alone and Porcelain Heart are just so perfect for the Doctor and Rose.
