So I've been hard at work on Vortex all morning and it's going well. But I'm taking a little break and thought I'd do a meme I swiped from angelfireeast.

I adore Pern. I started reading it when I was 12 and I still think it's one of the best put together fantasy series out there.

Name a fandom and I'll answer the following...

1. The first character I first fell in love with
F'nor. I cannot say how much I adore this man.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Mirrim. She really annoyed me with how she treated Jaxom in The White Dragon, but later on she became such a strong, independent woman. Although I did like her early on in her relationship as Menolly's healer. I wish they'd gone into her relationship with T'gellan more because of the dynamics of his being Weyrleader and and Talina being Weyrwoman, but Mirrim being his chose weyrmate.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t
I'm not sure of this. Since Anne didn't allow fanfiction I never really followed the fandom base's ideas. Maybe Toric.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Again, I don't know. My guess might be Piemur.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer
I don't have one of these

6. The character I would totally smooch
Probably Lord Lytol. He is just so damaged and I'd totally want to try to fix him. Or Masterharper Robinton. And of course, F'nor.

7. The character I’d want to be like
Silvina or Manora or Menolly

8. The character I’d slap
Kylara. Sometimes Lessa.

9. A pairing that I love
F'nor and Brekke, Jaxom and Sharra, Robinton and Silvina, F'lar and Lessa

10. A pairing that I despise
Kylara and Lord Meron, but that's mostly that I just hate the characters, not that they are together. They were both selfish, dishonorable people whose actions resulted in the death of a Queen dragon. You are supposed to hate them.

Okay, I didn't start watching Buffy until season six was about to air so I wasn't really in the fandom. My guess would probably be either The Master or Darla.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Principal Snyder

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer
Drusilla

6. The character I would totally smooch
Giles. Or Xander. Shut up.

7. The character I’d want to be like
Tara. She was the best friend to people.

8. The character I’d slap
Oz, for cheating on Willow

9. A pairing that I love
Buffy/Spike, Spike/Drusilla, Buffy/Angel, Xander/Cordelia, Xander/Anya Willow/Tara, Willow/Oz (until the affair with girl werewolf), Giles/Jenny, Giles/Joyce. Okay, okay, Willow/Tara is probably my favorite relationship. It felt like a real soul-bonding, like it wouldn't have mattered if these two were both women or a man and a woman or two men, that they would have fallen in love and been perfect for each other no matter what.

10. A pairing that I despise
Spike/Anya. That was just wrong and hurtful in so many ways and completely unnecessary to go there.

Eli

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Rush

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t
TJ. It's not that I hate her, I just don't much get the appeal.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Camile. But I love Ming-Na. Camile was a difficult, complicated, flawed woman, but deeply caring and genuine in her relationships.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer
Not sure I have one of these. But I didn't like Matthew Scott right from the start. He was a tramp. I hated how he treated Vanessa James.

6. The character I would totally smooch
Eli (I like the nerds, okay).

7. The character I’d want to be like
Eli

8. The character I’d slap
Rush, but not all the time, just to keep him in line

9. A pairing that I love
Eli/Chloe, Vanessa James/Ronald Greer

10. A pairing that I despise
Matt/Chloe I honestly think they just paired these two together because they were two of the prettiest, youngest people on the ship. I never felt they had anything in common and thought their relationship was based on things that were far too shallow to sustain it. And as I said, I never liked Matt. Even if Chloe couldn't be with Eli, she would have been better off alone than with Matt.

#5 I forgot about Scott when I filled out my meme. I HATED the way he treated Vanessa. I always felt like it was felt up to her to be get over everything as if he had no responsible. He showed her no respect. I never liked him from the get go.

#6 I love David Blue. I'd kiss him too.

#8 LOL about slapping Rush. He does need one from time to time.

#9 I ship Eli/Chloe too.

#10 I couldn't agree more.Chloe and Scott's relationship was based on sex and loneliness. They where alone lost in space so they both grabbed a hold of one another and wouldn't let go. Maybe because we weren't really shown any of their relationship or maybe it's just their personalities but I didn't feel they had anything in common. Anything to connect them beyond being trapped together (and being young and sexy). I always felt like Chloe and Scott would never last. Like she would grow out of him. I thought a good time for them to part was when she sided with Rush and he with Young. She started to grow up more and more then making her own choices and standing up for what she believed in. Before Ginn I felt like Chloe would grow out of Scott and into Eli. She's mature and so would he and they end up together. And that's not even touching Scott's issues. He has tons of them and seems to use sex to deal with them. It seemed to suggest to me that he's been a horndog with sex and women for long time. He's got lots of issues with dead parents/father figure which could've caused it. Doesn't excuse it but it's possibly why. I think Scott needs to sort that all out before he be good long term relationship. I don't think he was really doing that with Chloe. I think that Destiny is like a little bubble of it's own reality that he's living in.

Doctor Who

1. The first character I first fell in love with
I'm not sure if it was Rose or Nine. I think I kind of fell in love with them both

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Mickey

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t
Probably Sarah Jane Smith. I mean I like her, but I don't worship at the temple. I found her to be immature, a little strident, and jealous (Rose was jealous, too, in this ep, but she was 19 which isn't the maturest age), which I wasn't expecting at her age, and I hated that she'd just let her life stop waiting for the Doctor to come back. That was not the independent girl I remembered.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Martha Jones. Well, I don't think RTD did her any favors having her be lovesick for the Doctor, but eventually her character became so strong and had such beautiful character growth. I really loved Torchwood Martha and Season 4 Martha.

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer
I don't know if I have one. Well, maybe season five River, and love is too strong a word, but I really lost respect for the character in season six.

The Doctor, Rory

7. The character I’d want to be like
Donna

The Doctor

9. A pairing that I love
Doctor/Rose, Mickey/Martha

10. A pairing that I despise
Well, not despise, but I don't really understand Doctor/Martha because it was clear he did not have those kinds of feelings for her and he said so. I mean, they were pretty together and both sexy actors, but there was no canon to take it from. Not even a little bit. I do like to have a tiny bit of canon as a springboard. Also, Doctor/Donna because I didn't get it, either. They repeatedly both thought it was yucky when they were mistaken for a couple. I always felt it was a brother/sister best friend type relationship so felt Doctor/Donna was kind of incestuous. Unless Ageless_Aislynn was writing it. Balancing Act is still the only Doctor/Donna smut I'd ever recommend and only because it is so hilarious and well done. I mean, others are welcome to ship those, and blessings to them, but I still don't get it. Also, Jackie/Doctor squicks me out.

Torchwood

1. The first character I first fell in love with
Gwen. I have always loved Gwen. Probably for many of the same reasons why I love Rose on Doctor Who. She keeps investigating and does not let things go. And she fights for the new life that she wants instead of the boring, old, ordinary life she had before.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Toshiko. It wasn't really until I started writing her in Hunger Moon and then more fully in Leap of Faith that I really, really came to adore her character. I always liked her, always thought she was pretty, but kind of thought she was wasted in much of the show. Her death though, it killed me. And on rewatch I liked her much more, too.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t
I like all of the characters on Torchwood

4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Probably a toss up between Gwen and Ianto

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer
Some days this is Jack. Some days I still love Jack. I like Jack far more when he has lightness to his character. When he's all dark it's hard to take, because it hurts. I adored DW Jack and that's the Jack I want to see on Torchwood.

6. The character I would totally smooch
I don't think any of them. They're all kind of slutty, aren't they? Might catch something. *snorts*

7. The character I’d want to be like
Oh, gosh, I don't think any of them. Maybe Rhys.

8. The character I’d slap
All of them at some point.

9. A pairing that I love
Gwen/Rhys. I've really liked Jack/Gwen, Jack/Ianto, Gwen/Owen and Tosh/Owen at different points, but the pairing that came through it all for me in the end was Gwen/Rhys. The strength that was built into their relationship when Gwen finally stopped screwing around and got serious made me happy. Someone needed a freaking happy ending on that show.

10. A pairing that I despise
Don't really have one. There are ones I don't see the point of, but none that I hate.

2. I feel the same way about Toshiko. I didn't really like or hate her that much, she was kind of just a background character for me, until her death. And because of how she died, whenever I rewatch I pay more attention to her now.

5. Sometimes I feel sad seeing him turn out the way he did. 140 years changed him. D:

6. lmao yes. Except maybe Rhys. XD

9. Yeah, I'm glad at least one relationship survived and flourished. Torchwood kept breaking my heart.
