...went a lot like this:

And I had to stand in lines today, which is about the hardest thing I can do to myself, right now. Walking is so much better, but standing, not so much. But I have my new laptop that they gave me to replace the other one and so far I like it a lot. It's fast. Though it has lights on the mouse pad and lighting up the model name that you could probably see from wherever you are reading this from. I know there is probably a way to lessen the glare, it was not nearly so bright in the store, but until I've read through the stuff, I've covered them with duct tape. It has a great keyboard though the keys are slick and I'm used to matte, so I keep feeling like I'm going to slip off them, but I never do. And I have full, fast, non-hamster driven internet speed again!
I also purchased Office with three licenses as the kids both need it for school anyway, so I should be able to get back to writing tomorrow. And update the last two weeks of my budget spreadsheet in Excel. Oh, and YM works on the new computer, so I am connected to Amy again, which is like, almost as important as getting a new computer, NGL.
So, long day, kids are driving me crazy, but new computer squee almost balances it out. Oh, and they let me transfer my anti-virus subscription, so yays! And just to be on the safe side I did not name this computer Edison the 7nth. She is heretofore known as Cordelia and let's hope she can be as beautiful, sassy and sarcastic as her namesake. Without the disabling visions.

Date: 2012-03-16 03:48 pm (UTC)one thing you might be able to fix though is the keyboard. i had a very shiny one, i bought some clear braile stickers for the leys. you can still see the key assignments underneath but it gives much better grip. i mainly boguht mine for games, but i'm actually for the first time in my life learning to type without watching the keyboard because of these. i got mine off ebay, might be worth a look if yours are bothering you after a week or so
