Hey, ladies, and oh, the occassional male reader or two that wanders my way as well.  I am horribly behind on answering my comments and you know, me being me, that makes me feel kind of lousy.  I'm one for believing that if you take the time to tell me you like it, I oughta take the time to say thanks.  At the moment life has been kind of explodey, though.

Like homeschooling two kids and babysitting my dad so my mom can have some time off from going insane with the pressure of dealing with a mostly blind Alzheimer's spouse, trying to get ready for Christmas when my husband is in Alaska and doesn't fly in until 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve and I get the joy of driving to SeaTac in the snow (with my MIL so I'll stay awake) most likely because for him to rent a car and drive home on CE it would cost about $150 for a vehicle safe enough to drive in snow in because holiday pricing jacks everything up, remembering to feed, water, and bathe the kids, attempt to do same to self on a regular basis *snorts*, shovel snow out of the driveway if I ever want to go anywhere, and in my downtime write fic to relieve my stress.  Yeah.

Today was just a bit rough.  Tobias ate something with blue food coloring in it and oh, my heavens, you would have thought a demon had possessed the child.  It took until midnight for the reaction to go away.  I had forgotten how bad it could be when he ate something he was allergic to.  I thought I'd gotten rid of everything two months ago when we took him off all artificial everything, but apparently there was a hidden stash. *sighs*  I'm pretty sure it was what was left of Rose's Halloween candy.  It's gone now.

I didn't get to write today like I wanted to.  Last week I had the time but didn't have the inclination.  This week I seem to have the inclination but very little time.  If it hadn't been for the kids having dance lessons yesterday and me writing during them, the most recent chapter of Vortex wouldn't have seen the light of day.  Maybe I'll get a chance tomorrow when Mom takes the kids shopping for their Christmas presents while I stay with Dad.  He sleeps most of the time now anyway.  And I'll get to pick up the DVD of Tobias' performance in the Nutcracker (which he did a lovely job of).

I'm hoping to get the tree up Friday.  We aren't even trying to put up the seven footer this year.  We got a three foot tall, pre-lit fake tree and some little ornaments and a thing of garland and that's it.  It's too much of a hassle for me to do more than that and I don't fancy trying to drag stuff out of storage on my own.  You know you're not much into the Christmas spirit when all you can think about is how darn inconvenient it is to be dealing with a holiday right now.  I'm sure I'll get hit by tidings of comfort and joy in a few more days but for now I feel rather too close of an affinity to the Grinch.  Especially since one of the many power failures we had during the Nor'easter shorted out our outdoor Christmas lights.

If anybody has some cutsey Christmas fluffies, I could sure use some right about now. *bats eyes hopefully*

I've got just the thing for a lovely feel-good if you don't mind BtVS instead of DW? See A Very Xander Christmas (http://community.livejournal.com/xanzpetfiction/76873.html). :-)

I reviewed Zeppelins in Part Ten of the Children of Time Nominee list. I figure that's fluffy, even if it isn't Christmas-related.

:hugs: to you and your family regarding your dad. Alzheimer's is so horrible. :(

Holiday stress can be rough too. Don't forget to take a little time for yourself.

remembering to feed, water, and bathe the kids

If you forget to water children, they start to turn all brown, and you have to cut bits off. :(

I hear CPS doesn't approve of that for some reason.

Thank you. We've been through it once before with my maternal grandfather. We're almost...used to it, I suppose. And a bit numb to it, too. Sadly. Thanks.

Yeah, it's kind of been a depressing year for a lot of people with the recession and everything. I'm starting to feel a bit better now, though. More cheerful.

I just remembered. I have a little smut I wrote a while back here: http://doctor10-crazt.livejournal.com/9563.html a somewhat funny story here: http://doctor10-crazt.livejournal.com/12182.html and the beginning of a slightly fluff story here: http://doctor10-crazt.livejournal.com/14536.html

Hope they help!
