Now admittedly it's been more than 30 years since I did art in high school but... I seem to remember being told very firmly that you make 'shades' by mixing black with a colour and 'tints' by mixing white with a *colour*.

So, pedantic of me I admit, but I don't think you can *have* a rainbow that's shaded white. :-)
