...Meet Starbuck, Serenity, and Sweetie Belle. Be prepared for adorableness.



We picked them up on Sunday and in six months they can be bred.

And Piper had the first batch of kits that I have bred yesterday. They are too squirmy for a good photo yet. Everything comes out blurred. This is the best I could get. They are born without fur so that is the mama's fur that she pulls and covers them with.

Nice rabbits you have there. Might be better not to poke into the little ones' nest though, because if mama rabbit thinks they smell human, she'll abandon them.
But once the tiny buggers start hopping around, they're free game to pet!
I love them when they have such cute, littlest ears...
I am such an avid animal lover that those big, white ones scream tasty at me (well, it takes years of conditioning from early childhood and naming all the rabits roast, ham, schnitzel and so on).
And why is there a black cat sleeping on my lap?

She won't abandon them. You just use latex gloves or put a drop of pure vanilla extract on her nose so all she smells is that for several hours or you pet the mama first so her smell is on your hand when you mess with the kits. There are lots of ways around that.

They are so adorable!! We have several wild rabbits roaming my neighborhood and I always stop and awww at them. :)
