I am honestly starting to believe that the reason LJ keeps logging me out is to force me to view their advertisements. As a paid member I am not supposed to have to view any of their ads, but at least five times a day for the past month I have been forced to view their stupid ads because no matter what I do it will not allow me to stay logged in all day. It sucks. LJ really needs to get it's act back together. Even before the DDoS attacks this kind of crap was happening and I am really getting tired of it. I can't go more than one page back on my f-list before it unlogs me. If I am reading a four chapter fic and I hit the link to the next chapter instead of taking me there, it logs me out. I am really getting tired of it! /rant

Not sure if this has a single thing to do with it or not, but have you tried clearing your cache? Maybe that might help. Then again, maybe not.

Did you try a different browser? I use Mozilla Firefox with Ad-block plus, and after I cleared my cache and deleted my cookies everything was fine. Also, I don't have a paid account, but the Ad-block thing at least stops the ads from showing up. I tend to forget how much advertisement there is on the internet - until someone forces me to use Internet Explorer.

Ugh, that is SO frustrating! I have to sort of double log in every morning, the first time I log in, I'm still not logged in until I refresh the page, then I'm magically logged in. :S But I've had it do that "Surprise! You're logged out!" thing from one page to the next and it sucks rocks through a straw! :S

I know they have a way of binding your log in to your IP or some such but I'm not really sure how it works, exactly. Nor if it's even something you want to DO, especially if you have reasons that you don't want to be permanently logged in here. And the bottom line is that you shouldn't have to, after all.

All I can do is suggest Firefox with AdBlockPlus, which doesn't actually solve the problem, I know, but will at least give you a slightly safer surfing experience by blocking a great deal of ads (and thus preventing some exploits that enter your system via banner ads and the like). It also offers the extra thing of allowing to block images, such as LJ icons, so if somebody on your flist uses an uber-strobe-light sort of icon a lot, you can keep from seeing it. ;)

Good luck, hon! I hope that you can find out what's causing that (have you submitted a support ticket for it?) and get it fixed ASAP! *hugs* ♥!

That's very odd. I use Firefox and Adblock and Scriptblocker and have had no problems at all.

Sorry... I have no suggestions to add, but I do have hugs. Stuff like that is just so darn frustrating!!! We shouldn't have to have WORKAROUNDS to make LJ enjoyable to read and use!!!

Weird. But I thought you were already running Firefox? Have you tried installing their AdBlock ad-on? I never see ads anywhere anymore, and frankly, I think because the ads aren't loading, I spend less time waiting for pages to load and more time actually reading content. Every time someone mentions ads on pages I go to regularly, I'm always a little surprised because half the time, I didn't even realize they were there.

That's crazy. I haven't had that sort of problem, outside of being logged out after I haven't been on in a while.

You haven't by chance updated your browser recently? Sometimes the saving cookies fuction gets turned off, so you get logged out of everything because the browser doesn't remember you were logged in.

I feel your frustration though.

Oh yeah-- Icon love!

Gah, I'm so sorry! That was frustrating the hell-o out of me, but I got it fixed by resetting Firefox. Dunno if that will help? Cleared the cookies and what not, and I'm having to get them all new, but it stopped annoying me that way (and found NEW ways to annoy me, yay, I just LOVE starting in "HTML" when I try to post!)

*huggles* Hope it gets better soon. If not, I hope for Fiona, because hell yeah.

yes, I'm late again, lol. I know you said you'd cleared cache when someone else asked, but have you cleared your cookies recently? I ask because it's a cookie that keeps you logged in, so clearing them, then logging in and ticking the "remember me" box should fix this, in theory at least.
