30 Day Love Meme
Dec. 30th, 2010 03:07 pmDay 07: Most Hearbreaking Scene: Doctor Who--Doomsday--Ten and Rose say good-bye.
I still, after this many years, have a hard time watching this scene all the way through. It just breaks my heart. When she can't touch him because he's only a hologram I think part of me wanted to shoot RTD. Doctor/Rose were all about touch and to take that from them in their last few minutes together was an evil blow. No hugs, no holding, no kissing good-bye. It was horrible. Also that brief leap of emotion on the Doctor's face when he thinks Rose might be pregnant kills me. As much as I adored them, as much as I knew they loved each other, I had never considered they might have consummated that love before that moment (children's show and all that) and that one line sent my mind racing in a million different directions. Also, the Doctor dithering on and running out of time, unable to tell Rose he loved her in return to her broken I love you hurts to this day, especially since he, or at least that version of him, never does say it to her.
