i agree with you on so many levels of this post. it's amazing how many people are saying similar things after rave reviews of the intital show, they go back and watch and see how many tennant references there are. I was totally annoyed that they had him licking the shed (only ten ever did that, pretty obvious there SM) wibbly wobbly reference, again tennant; leaving him in his clothes for so bloody long bothered me, sure he had 20 mins but still. he acted like ten a lot, babbling on about why no one ever stays put, nine might have said something similar, actually most of the doctors have probably said something like that but it was the WAY he said it, again sounding like ten. sure this is right after regen also, but still. then there's the WHOLE scene of amelia cooking for him and him tasting everything, another sort of reference to christmas invasion where he needed a cup of tea (him shouting at jackie about needing something and she rambles off all these different foods and stuf) and the snap with the tardis and the smug look he gives her. i dunno. i still dont like the show. i'll watch again this saturday and give it another shot but i'm really disappointed. and the tardis looks horrid. (hate the new theme too lol) BUT! i will say i am intregued by the crack in time thing (although that too is another vote saxon type thing which i believe is referenced back to the library episode in s4) and what came up on his little monitor in the tardis which he shut off quickly. the sonic screwdriver opening the crack in time (that seems a bit odd dunnit?) so i'm up and down with the whole thing. i like a lot of amy, although her watching the doctor get undressed (plus him getting undressed right there) was a bit off key from what we've seen on the show before) so like i said i'm still up in arms on what to think on the show. but they certainly had me thinking tennant a lot of the way thru. (oh and did you notice the use of analog clocks in the hospital and through out?)
