Just thought I'd share my favorite weird photo from the trip.  This was just at a little pull off gift shop area called The Buried A-Frame near the base of Mt. St. Helen"s highway.   We were in Bigfoot Country.  I'm not quite sure how tall it was.  That's my son (the back of him anyway) for scale.  He's four feet seven inches tall.

Wow.

Reminds of this "monument garden" we went to near Colonial Williamsburg that was basically a bunch of giant bustsof all the Presidents.

He's a big one. Is it concrete?

Oh that's crazy - reminds me of all the Paul Bunyon/Babe the Blue Ox statues that peppered my childhood in Minnesota...

I don't actually know. I didn't get out of the car for that photo because that would have meant leaving the air conditioning and it was 95 degrees F outside. Chris didn't touch it and neither did T. It probably was. I don't think wood would hold up very well with something that big.

Probably similar since the Bigfoot (not to be confused with Sasquatch or Yeti or Abominable snowmen) mythos is huge in WA state mountain areas (supposedly the legend was started in the early 1900's by Mt. St. Helen loggers, but I dunno) and they are everywhere. This is just the biggest statue we saw.

It was pretty cool. Somewhere I've got a picture of my kids next to a giant JFK head.
