I could not agree more. This episode lacked any sort of emotional rudder. It seemed to be a loosely tied together string of sight-gags and false emotional pitches. Laugh here, be sad here, be happy here...I felt like I was looking at panels of a comic book page and bad ones at that. It was jumbled and disjointed, just very poor storytelling.
I remember CE's performance in Dalek made me cry. It has such emotional resonance. I learned so much about The Doctor and Rose in that episode. This was drivel, a waste of time. It made Dalek's Take Manhattan look good.
