Well, that certainly made for an interesting evening. It's just like the Doctor to crash Tosh and Rose's Friday night in. At least he was on his best behavior around Rose that night but I can't believe Tosh gave away that Rose was attracted to John. Though knowing she liked the way he looked probably helped him relax and feel a bit hopeful. In a way it probably helped his good behavior a bit. I liked the quarry comment when it comes to alien planets. Though I would think higher budget films had better sets or made the quarry's more alien looking. with proper effects and design teams but now I'm just getting nitpicky.
I loved Rose's socks, shows she's got a bit of her old self inside, just tucked away where you can't see. But sugar on the margarita glasses? (shakes head slightly) Salt is the traditional edging for the glass but to each their own. I'm just glad nobody got tipsy enough to let things get out of control. Still things got loosened up a bit. When Rose was describing some of the beautiful planets she's been too, I'm kinda surprised that none of that sparked in Tosh's memory, or if it did, she didn't let her reactions betray her thoughts. It might make Tosh more curious about Rose.
I loved the braiding the hair comment though. and John's horrified reaction. It would serve him right if they had for crashing the girl's night.
I can only imagine Rose's reaction if she had discovered the TARDIS. especially if it's in the same shape of a Police box. This being an alternate world, it could be in a different form. I don't believe you mentioned a different shape and we all tend to assume it's a blue police box because that is what it's always been.
John really did seem to be honestly trying but it does seem that the alcohol did loosen lips a little bit on both sides. He let it slip about Oxford, giving Rose the opening to confront him about her files being hacked and letting him see how hurtful and how much of an invasion of privacy it was for her. Of course then she lets it slip about his resemblance to her lost love. Though she did use the word Lover, so I'm assuming that Rose and the previous Doctor did have a physical relationship unlike the cannon of the TV series. (in love but never lovers, which in some ways made things more bittersweet at their parting, without even a proper kiss. I always thought it sucked that the only time Rose got kissed was when she was possessed)
You did leave us as quite the cliffhanger though with Rose dropping the bomb on John like that. Something tells me that he's not gonna deal to well with this at first. That the only feelings she has for him is from seeing a Ghost from the Past in him. I don't think he'll throw a tantrum, at least not where he can be seen, but I think he'll be closed off for a while as he works things out in his head. He might even take it out on Tosh if he finds out that she knew or suspected about his resemblance to Rose's lost love. Though it's best to get such issues out early and not let it fester for goodness knows how long. It'd be a heck of a lot worse if a relationship developed before he knew about his double.
Anywho, enough of my mindless ramblings. I look forward to the next chapter.
