Story Updates and Life Stuff

Well, it rained today so our plans to fix the fence fell through. *sighs*  Not that I felt well enough to do it anyway, though I am feeling a lot better, so it was no big loss to me.  We can't do it tomorrow as we're driving down to the kids' summer camp so I can find it without DH since he won't be home the week they go.  I am so looking forward to having a week to myself with no responsibilities and tons of free time to just write and write to my heart's content.

I wrote half of the last chapter of You're What? today.  I know I should have written the next chapter, but this one has just been bugging me so much I had to get it out of my system.  I'm almost finished with ch. 13 of Hunger Moon and I got a little bit more done on ch. 30 of Of the Vortex Born, so pretty happy with myself.  I'll take the laptop with me on the trip tomorrow so I can write in the car.

Oh, I edited chapter three of Andromeda Rising and put it up today, too.  Only made very minor changes to it.

Other than that I cut hair.  Gave DH a number 3 hair cut with the clippers, gave Tobias a number 5 hair cut with the clippers, and cut two inches off of Rose's hair and a half inch off her bangs.  And they all look spectacular if I do say so myself.  Not bad for no training and I saved at least $50 plus tip by doing it myself.  I've been cutting their hair for years off and on, but it's been a while so I was happy with the results.  Of course, I went and got my own hair done Monday before the worst of the virus hit.  I won't cut my own hair except for the occassional bang trim if I happen to have them.  I had her take off ten inches and put in layers all over to really thin it out and now my hair just touches my shoulders and without all the weight pulling it down it bounces up into curls instead of long, frizzy waves.

I took my hair home with me just to prove a point and weighed it on the food scale.  Nearly a pound of hair!  My hair is ridiculously thick, just to give you an idea, before I cut it I could put it into three braids that were each 2 inches in diameter and I thought it might be causing headaches from the weight of it and yeah, I'm sure it was.  Especially since the really bad ones are gone since cutting it.  So no matter how much DH likes long hair on me, I'm done with long hair.  And he does think this cut is cute, so no worries anyway.

DH is going to color my hair tonight for me.  I've decided on a dark auburn.  My hair is normally a sort of reddish gold color, but it has so much grey mixed in now that it just sort of washes me out.  I haven't colored in well over a year, just sort of gave up when I had so much hair they always had to use triple amounts of dye at the salon, but now that it's short again, I'm going for it and one bottle will be enough.

Let's see, oh I also went icon hunting today and found one of Rose I quite like and the one above is of Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl, my latest addiction.  Lots of pretty stuff out there.  Oh, while I have people here, does anyone know of a good LJ community for the TV show Bones?  I tried searching it and all I'm getting is pro-anorexia and bulimia journals and the occassional actual anthropology or archeology journal, so not what I want.

It rained here today too! I was working anyway, so it didn't matter much. I am glad you are getting better, and I am jealous of your hair. Sounds like my sister's hair. I of course got the straighter, finer hair, and she got the thick luxuriant curly hair. Exciting news about work on the fics! And keep getting better!

It rained here too. Although probably not nearly as much. We live in the desert so we don't usually get as much as other places. Good for you with the haircuts. I do the same thing, and I can't cut my own either. I do have some training though. Even though I haven't done it for a living in years, I am a licensed cosmetologist, so everyone in the family gets haircuts and my Mom has me color hers about every 6 weeks.
I am glad to hear you are feeling better. I look forward to the next chapters in all your ongoing stories.

May I be the first to request a possessivejealous!Nine/Rose fic? I so do love when Nine gets like that with Rose, before it is all fixed by lots of smut, of course. ;)

A possessivejealous!Nine/Rose fic with smut? Hmm... Like a one-shot? Well...I think that's doable. But camp isn't until the second week of July. And thanks for the Bones com. It's what I was looking for.

Thank you. Curly hair, especially when it's thick, isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm sure the same can be said of thin and fine, though.
