Gah. I was hoping it wasn't an ACL tear... Mine got totally blasted to oblivion just before my freshman year of college, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. One thing that might help is to go on crutches. That will allow you to get your weight completely off the bad knee, which might help with the pain. And in the vein of patsy1665's post, it gives you two weapons with which to keep people in line... ;P
