“And despite my status on this planet, or maybe because of it, I don’t have a lot of those.

It's interesting, this conversation between James and Donna. It's sort of like his pre-emptive strike, testing the waters to see what would happen if he came out of the closet regarding his alienness to her. And this line, more than the rest - more even than him saying "Think about who I am", which is a good indicator, or agreeing that there are aliens not only in London but at Illuminate - it's this line that ought to tip Donna off. "My status on this planet"...I have to think if a human were saying this, they wouldn't have qualified their status as being "on this planet". It would have simply been "despite my status, or because of it".

I wonder if Donna will think back on this later....

“Okay, then, show me your aliens.”

And, of course, after that lovely little meta bit, my mind went straight back to the gutter for this. *snickers*

“Aren’t we the eager beaver?” Rose asks him.

*mind still in gutter* Well, technically speaking, Rose....it's not Jonathon with the....

“You were so worth the wait.”

Wait? What wait? What's it been, two weeks? *snort*

Not even with her. I loved Elisabeth, but…it wasn’t like this. It wasn’t…Rose, it’s so much more with you.

Now, this is interesting too, especially as we know that Elisabeth wasn't real. She was created by the Doctor and Rose (and Jonathon) as a way of giving him a backstory. Which means all his memories of Elisabeth are also imaginary.

So the fact that he finds lovemaking with Rose to be better makes some degree of sense, of course, because they would be. But it makes me wonder about which of the three of them actually put the memories there, constructed them, and how, and if that individual - and I'm guessing it was a combination of the Doctor and Jonathon, and not actually Rose - realized that the memory was going to pale in comparison to the actual experience with Rose. Was it done on purpose? Or did it work out that way? Was it done before the Doctor and Rose were actually the Doctor-and-Rose, and if so, was the Doctor imagining what it would be like with Rose, or was he remembering previous relationships (assuming this Doctor had them)? (And yes, I'd like an answer to this train of thought, if you've got it.)

Not bad for an old man of thirty-four he thinks,

And seriously impressive for a newborn, at that. :)

Hey, does this mean Rose is robbing the cradle?

(And they're well on their way to using all seven of those condoms, aren't they?)
