So, I don't usually do this unless someone asks my opinion, but I'm going to make a fic rec for those of you who like AU versions of the Doctor.  This one's a version of Ten and its a WiP with only six chapters up, but I got totally sucked into it tonight and read it straight through.  She has excellent pacing, puts sentences together in thoroughly enchanting ways, writes very true to character, has a great narrative plot device, and the story just...I dunno, feels exactly right in the Whoniverse.  It's called Alternatively by Kathryn Shadow and you can find it here:  http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=20310  Honestly, I haven't been this enchanted with an AU story since jrlpuck's The Way of Things, whochick's Diamond Sea, or Emery Board's Wolf at the Door.  It has that kind of potential, I think.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about Alternatively! It is amazing and wonderful!

And about the melancholy: Wiggiemomsi is right, you really are loved! *hugs you and hands you a cup of hot chocolate with extra marshmallow* I think it is just that kind of year. I am very, very glad you are here!

Thanks for the rec. I had started reading it already. We seem to think alike.
I spent part of yesterday afternoon reading some from tardislullabye. She had me crying too. You all are so creative. I, sadly, am not. I have ideas, but I don't think I would do well at getting them to go from my head to a viable story. I respect your ability to do it and marvel at how you can get it done and still manage a home and a family and all that. You are amazing. Thanks for all the great stories.
Here's a **huge hug**.
Have a great day.

Aw, awesome! Kathryn Shadow is one of my best DW fanatic friends...she's such a talented writer, and it absolutely amazes me because she's so young compared to most of us! I'll send this to her, she's going to be SO happy.

And a bit of promotion here...she posted "Iniquity" on newwhovian.proboards89.com first, just like I've been posting my stories there first, so it's a great place to see some stories before they're out to the public.

-goes back to shocked Gibberish-
And yes, I'm going to start posting Alternatively on The Forum first, because... erm... -pause- Actually, I've no idea why. I just am. HA!
-more shocked Gibberish-
Have you ever been to Gibber? Lovely place. ^^
