Don't like the Dentist

Well, I do like my dentist, but I don't like going to the dentist.  Which is what I did today, well techinically yesterday, it's after midnight now.  Needless to say my teeth still hurt and it has been making it very hard for me to concentrate on anything!  And all I did was have a cleaning and a sealant put on.  Nothing that ought to hurt an ordinary person, but of course, my gums and teeth, though pretty healthy have always been very sensitive.  The dental assistant is always asking me if I'm okay because I grip the chair arms so darn hard my fingers turn white.  I'm not afraid, it just hurts.  Always end up with a tense neck and shoulders afterwards, though part of that might be from hanging upside down in that silly chair.  I always feel like I'm going to slide right out onto the floor.

So I should be sleeping but ouch, even Motrin isn't touching this so far.  I know in a day or two it'll be back to normal.  I just wish it would hurry up.  Chapter 6 of Hunger Moon is giving me a hard time.  I'm trying to work on the Pete storyline but I'm wondering if I'm trying to force the chapter too soon.  I think I may need to back track and pick up Rose and the Doctor in the Gallifrey room.  I was going to skip it, as I wasn't sure I wanted to do a smut chapter so early in the story, but I think it may be what I should do, followed by the chapter with Davin and then smooth into Pete.  Although I'm thinking maybe I should bring Mickey in to the Pete storyline much earlier than I'd intended.  Because Mickey can suss out what's up with Pete, I think, a lot faster than anyone.  In my head at least, Mickey is aware of something being off with Pete.  We'll have to see.  It won't be the first time I've written chapters out of order.  Frustrating for those of you waiting for chapter six, I know, but hopefully I can think enough tomorrow to revamp and fix this so it works.

I've also been working on a story called Trouble Magnet.  I'm not sure how that's going to play out.  It's probably a one-shot.  Probably AU.  Not really sure how it's gelling.  Just something to fiddle with when HM is being stupid.

Something major that has been bugging me for a while has been resolved.  Yes, I'm that enigmatic.  Just, it's taken care of, resolved in my favor and I'm happy with the outcome.  And relieved.

I hate the dentist too and it's because I'm afraid, though I sympathize with your teeth sensativity because my Mother is in the same boat. It doesn't matter how gentle the dental assistant is...she's in pain.

I hate the dentist too, so I have total sympathy for you about that. They always seem to think I am going to faint or run out or something.

Enigmatic is a good thing; always keep a bit of mystery for yourself! Glad you had some good news after a very trying time being sick.

We can wait a little for the new HM chapter. Writing out of order may be the perfect way around to the next chapter. Any one shot of yours will always be fun!!!!

I don't have very sensitive gums and teeth but I commiserate with your pain. And it must be even more uncomfortable having just had the flu.
Yeah for resolution! I have to agree that any oneshot from you is always fun. I look forward to your writing. I love your stories. I am anxiously waiting the next chapter of HM but if you don't get it posted in the next couple of days, that's ok, it'll give me something to look forward to when I get back Sunday night.
I am going to a camp in the nearby mountains, near Big Bear, that in the summer is a camp for children(and teens) with disabilities. In the spring the very nice lady who runs the camp, runs a special weekend(she usually offers two or three different weekends) for Moms of special needs kids. It's just a chance to get away and have someone pamper us for a change. So the hubby and kids will be on their own, well Brendan will have his nurse most of the day Sat and part of SUnday till I get back. No internet for me from Friday afternoon til SUnday evening. SO I will have some catching up to do. But if I am in my cabin and need a fix, I do have one or two of your stories saved to file in my hard drive, so I can still read some.
I hope you continue to feel better and good luck with the ideas. May they come bounding into your head.

How bizarre.

Dentists aren't all that bad. I like watching them as they work. Very strange perspective whenyou're laid down with your gob wide open.I think I've got to have surgery sometime this year to have some plates and screws put in the front of my jaw so I can screw on some new teeth ^_^ crazy genetic defects= free dental for life. Bless t'old NHS. Quite looking forward to it actually.

Oh, have fun at your camp. It sounds like a wonderful time for caregivers to have on their own. I may only get one more chapter up this weekend anyway. It's possible I'll get two but we have soccer all day Saturday then going to the in-laws afterwards and that always takes a huge bite out of my writing schedule.

Feels like it, it's tilted so far ddown and back because my hygenist is so short that I always think I'm going to slide out and land on my head. Yeah, I've told them it hurts. They use numbing stuff but I'm very resistant to anesthetic, especially topical.

It went okay, they filled them, the injection was the worst of it. Then for half the day my mouth was all numb lol!
