Jack O'Neil is know for going off 'Fishing' on vacation at a lake (that he eventually admits has no fish) in a number of SG1 episodes and it was a running joke for a short time where he drags his coworkers out to the lake and they don't want to go.
There is also a really cute story where the Doctor and Jack meet up at said lake. If your interested fan fic was called 'Can of Worms' written buy Tuba321 and is posted on Fan Fiction . Net (it's one of a trilogy of DW/SG1 stories).
