I am back from Virginia Mason and the news is very good.
Everything has healed to the point where the doctor can barely even see the scarring. Considering how much scar tissue he removed and how much recontstruction he did last July this is excellent. Even better, kidneys, liver, and bladder are all functioning normally. I have not turned yellow in a very long time. I have no signs of tumors. He is 98% convinced I won't need further surgery (though time will tell). I no longer need to have follow ups with him unless symptoms return. Yay! Between this and not needing knee surgery, you can imagine how happy I am.
I am exhausted though. We stayed overnight in a hotel in Marysville and the idiots running up and down the hallways at ten and eleven o'clock at night made it very hard to sleep. I mean, who doesn't stop to think that this is a hotel and maybe I should be quiet and try not to disturb the other people in it when I come up from the pool late? Who doesn't stop to think that maybe I should not let my toddlers screech at the top of their lungs while running up and down the hall? There is some seriously, seriously bad parenting in this world.
All of that would have been helped by a loud fan. The one on the heating/cooling unit could not be jiggered to run full time. Finally we left the bathroom fan on and the bathroom door open and that helped a bit. Probably fell asleep around midnight which was late for me and then got blasted awake at 7ish by people slamming their doors. Again, seriously, conciousness of other people around you. It's not that hard a concept. Managed to get back to sleep and dozed sort of until ten. Between that and caffeine I was okay to drive on the freeway.
Rose and I did a lot of shopping. I ended up with three pairs of pajamas that are very warm and two more pairs of slipper socks. Oh, and a long-sleeved thermal shirt that is periwinkle. PERIWINKLE. Hopefully they will help with my eternal chills at night lately. She got 3 long-sleeved shirts, new tennis shoes, a teal and leopard print fuzzy hoody, 2 pairs of slipper socks, 2 very nice jeans, 4 camisoles (including one leopard print, theme), and a faux saphire bracelet. I love Fashion Bug. Can I just say I adore the place? The sales were awesome. The outlet mall was nice, too, but it's not FB. Oh, bought twelve pairs of socks for T, too.
Rose and I had a great time. It has been so long since we've spent this much time together with just the two of us. I think I need to arrange for it more often. And T had a great time having grandma to himself, too.
Tomorrow gets to be a lazy day. I need to make a quick trip to Freddy's but other than that I am going to laze around in bed all day and maybe write some. But mostly just laze around and try to beat off this cold before it seriously sinks in it's teeth.
Okay, I am going to go back to locking my personal posts again now, but wanted you all to know about the good news on the medical front.
