Wolf Moon--Better With You--Addendum

amberfocusSo, these are future plans for the series of Better With You which began with Wolf Moon. The moon theme will continue in story tittles. These are NOT SPOILERS, more basic story synopses. I’d love to know what you think. Really, really. The scope hurts my head just a little bit. *smiles*
Wolf Moon of course, based on the first full moon of January, the night the alternate version of Nine shows up on Rose Tyler’s doorstep. They meet, fall in love, are assigned a Quest, become bondmates, get engaged, and complete task number one on their Quest. Characters: alt!Nine, Rose Tyler, the TARDIS, Romana, Ambigere. Multi-chapter.
Hunger Moon based on one of the names of the first full moon of February. This story takes place on the parallel Earth where task number two must be completed. It will encompass a rather nasty run-in with Rose’s ex-boyfriend Davin and an introduction of the Doctor to Jackie, who’ll have more than a few opinions about the situation...and the engagement of her daughter. It will also have Rose and the Doctor adjusting to having a fully physical relationship with an underlying constant need for each other. Characters: alt!Nine, Rose Tyler, the TARDIS, Jackie Tyler, Davin McBain, Romana, Ambigere with cameo appearances possible by Pete Tyler, Mickey Smith, and Jake Symmonds. Multi-chapter.
Chaste Moon on the March moon name. Task three will take them to a carefully controlled planet where they will have to keep their amorous behavior under strict control or have it occur in very creative places while in public or risk Very Nasty Things happening to them. Don’t have much more of a plot than that for this one yet. But I have time. Characters: alt!Nine, Rose Tyler, the TARDIS, Romana, Ambigere, Original Character. Multi-chapter.
Pink Moon on the April Moon (so named for the budding and flowering of the majority of those trees at that time). No task for this story. This one takes place on Earth and will cover the preparations leading up to and the actual event of their Earth wedding. Characters: alt!Nine, Rose Tyler, the TARDIS, Jackie Tyler, Pete Tyler, Mickey Smith, Jake Symmonds, Davin McBain. Shorter multi-chapter, maybe 7 to 10 chapters, since there is no Quest task.
Thunder Moon based of one of the July moon choices. There were a lot for this one that I liked, Blood Moon, Mead Moon and Moon of Claiming, which I’d change to Claiming Moon. But I decided Thunder Moon is probably the best of the bunch because we will see the Oncoming Storm and there’s no saying I can’t use a different one in the future if I so choose. Very sketchy ideas still other than it will be task 3 for the Quest and there will be some serious jealousy and possessiveness and anger in this story when another man (a powerful alien) tries to make the Doctor surrender Rose to be his mate. Rose will take none too kindly to the alien’s machinations. I am toying with the idea of Rose being forced to kill him to save herself at the end of the story and the repercussions of that playing out in the next story. Characters: alt!Nine, Rose Tyler, the TARDIS, Ambigere, Romana, Original Character. Multi-chapter.
Lightning Moon based on the August moon name choices. This also has Red Moon and Dispute Moon for name choices that would go somewhat, but since playing off the last one, figured Lightning was the way to go. Dealing with the aftermath of what happens in the previous story whether there is a killing or just dealing with Rose's abduction. No task. Characters: alt!Nine, Rose Tyler, the TARDIS. Possibly a one shot or a three chapter story.
Story # 7. September moon name choices are Harvest Moon or Nut Moon. I so want to do something somewhat cracky and call it Nut Moon, but I don’t know. It will cover task 4 and hopefully be extremely silly. But alternatively if I can’t think of anything silly, a more somber Harvest Moon it will be. Characters: alt!Nine, Rose Tyler, the TARDIS, Romana, Ambigere, Original characters. Multi-chapter.
Hunter’s Moon based on the October moon name (the Blood Moon is again an option here, and I may choose to change it as much blood is spilled in this story, though not graphically). So timey whimey it might hurt. This will be the Romana/Eight story that will reveal what exactly happened, what Romana knew, what Bad Wolf knew, what the Doctor knew, and it will have in it the end of the Time War and the Disjunction of the Doctor into two versions of Nine. It will also be task # 5 for future alt!Nine and Rose. Characters: Romana, Eight, the Bad Wolf, Ambigere, the TARDIS, the TARDIS type 40, Nine v.1, Nine v.2, future alt!Nine, Rose Tyler. Multi-chapter.
Trading Moon based on the November moon name (though Frost Moon and Dark Moon are choices I may revisit). This at last will be the past history story that will cover Nine v.1 from meeting Rose and his regeneration into Ten and what that version of the Doctor knew as he went along through season one and all of season 2 of the show. I am thinking Trading Moon is the best title for this one, because in the end Ten understands that his time with Rose healing him after the war and rescuing him from the Daleks and causing the regeneration which triggered the changes in Rose that caused her to be so strongly attracted to alt!Nine when she meets him, was a trade off with the other version of him getting Rose as a mate and the continuation of his species. Will be very angst-ridden I’m sure. He will also be fighting it by the end and trying to change it right up until Doomsday when he makes the choice to send her away and she comes back to him. Then he loses her anyway. This one should glove rather nicely into the slots of canon. Characters: Pretty much every main character from seasons one and two. Mutli-chapter.
Story # 10. Task # 6. Name choices for May are: Flower Moon, Panther Moon, Planting Moon, or Bright Moon. No story idea associated with this one yet. But I have time.
Story # 11. Task # 7. Name choices for June are: Strawberry Moon or Rose Moon, though Rose Moon seems a bit of a no-brainer. There is no real story idea associated with this one, though I am thinking of maybe the discovery of a pregnancy if I’ve progressed the time line far enough by this point. Which I probably will have done. Just because story names are taken from each month does not mean that each story takes place in only a month’s time.
Bitter Moon or possibly Long Night’s Moon from the December name choices. Despite the possible first name choice we do have a happy ending for Rose and alt!Nine. I have promised that from the start and I will stick by it. It has all been leading up to this, what the Quest was for, how it saves the fabric of time and space and reality itself. It will have some surprises in it. And it will have huge amounts of angst as well. No character names at this point in time.
So there we are. If anyone wants to make story suggestions for stories 7, 10, and 11, please do so. Also if there is anything you’d like to see happen in this series, I’m open to suggestions. May or may not use them, but sometimes my reader’s have started me down the path to some of my best ideas, even if it was just a springboard to get me there.
I don't think I'll have a chapter of Wolf Moon up tonight, either if anyone is lurking around waiting for it.

I find him an intriguing character since he has such precious little "space" in the canon Whoniverse. Date: 2008-03-18 03:48 am (UTC)For #7 all I can think of is the Doctor trying to make things up or cheer up Rose after everything that happened and have it go horribly wrong. I.E he takes her too the wrong panet, gets things wrong, laughing follow shortly afterwards. For somethin more sober, same deal with out as much laugher.
#10 something shippy with hearts between Rose and AU!Nine, since I get the feeling I'm going to be crying with #9. Not too fuffy because I find pure fuffy boring. I'm a girl who loves lots of angst with happy ending. I hate unhappy endings but I get so bored with just prue fuffy. That's just me, you don't have to listen to me.
#11 the discovery of a pregnancy or possible pregancy would be interesting. What would it be like for Nine and Rose if they thought they could be pregnant but are not (if you don't want baby time at this point of the story).
You could mention Jimmy Stone, how he hurt her in the past. Maybe the Doctor meeting a equally
evilsbad as the Jimmy who treated Rose bad all those years ago. Maybe he'd even being from another world still have the power to get into Rose head and make her very unhappy (thus showing she not 100% over what her Jimmy did to her and the Doctor heals her and helps her to finally over come what happened to her). I have many theories what Jimmy was like in my head and I think he screwed with her it would be something she won't get over very in just a few short years. i.e when she first met her world's Doctor. I think after she met him everything in her life was just getting over the lose of him and that life and getting on with her life. The stuff with Jimmy just got pushed aside. Sorry over thinking things, Jimmy is way in the past and might not even fit into the story in any way.Sounds like you have amazing plan for with wonderful story! It all sounds so interesting I can't wait to see how it goes:D Are you thinking each story will be shorter or longer then Wolf Moon or is it a see how it goes type of thing. Do you have it all written out (an outline) or is it just in your head? It doesn't really matter but I've always curious about how people write big stories like this one. It's not something I think I'd ever be able to do even if I could spell and knew how to use grammar in the correct way.

Poor neglected Ten, he's pushed to the side so completely in the presence of alt!Nine, I feel a little sorry for him. Ah, well, at least alt!Ten got to marry Rose today in Repercussions. *laughs* Not that that helps Ten any. Oh, I think I need sleep, I'm talking about them like they're more real than usual.
It's been my favorite to write so far, so I'll be thrilled if it becomes your favorite to read. *smiles*

I have seen the movie but that is it, so I'll try to get a hold of some of the books and some of the CD's, do some reserach in canon with wiki and gallifreyone and a few other places that have been recommended in the past if I can remember where, before I write that one. Though it'll probably be more Romana led and I know her pretty well, I think, though I'll probably rewatch all the Tom Baker episodes she's in.

I think that the ones that are labeled multi-chapter will be anywhere between 30 and 50 chapters, depending on how they write themselves out. The only story that is fully outlined is Wolf Moon. Hunger Moon is maybe 2/3 of the way outlined. Nothing else is, yet. This whole thing was my first step in getting the ideas that have been kicking around in my head out of there so there was space for something else. I will start outlining the next story on the list when I'm writing Hunger Moon.

I think Trading Moon is the story I am dreading the most (and have been since you first started developing this as a series beyond just Wolf Moon), but also the one I'm looking forward to the most. I must be a glutton for punishment or something. ;0)
I too like the discovery of a pregnancy idea for story #11. You could go with Planting Moon for story #10, to lead into the pregnancy for story #11. . .
Will we get anymore with the future of the TARDIS? It kind of struck me as pretty important - but I could be reading too much into things.
Beyond that, I don't have any other ideas off the top of my head.
I was already looking forward to the rest of this series, but seeing it all laid out I am incredibly excited for it!

First of all, I love Rose Moon for the title, since it could also be the reason why Jackie name her that. Also, for the month of June the stone that's connected to that month is Alexandrite. Well Alexandrite was so named for the Czar Alexander II of Russia because it had the Royal Colors of the court, green during the day and red at night. Only Russia's mines in the Ural mountains could produce this stone but it has been found now in other places of the world. Now, with that said, maybe Rose could get it as a present from her Mum or a family friend as a gift for the baby and it's 'magical and mysterious properties' have a wollaping affect on the Doctor (or something similar in the opposite direction?)
Hey, I know that it's a stretch, but you can always throw in the mysterious explosion above the skies of Siberia, called the Tunguska Explosion in 1908 and it ties in with Rose's survival of the pregnancy..(or kill the 'mysterious bad guy' with the explosion?) The word 'mysterious' just keeps jumping around here, huh?
OK, I know it's an out there idea....but I hope something helps? Eyeballs crossing now...got to go to beddy-bye. Am going to start working on my ongoing chapters tomorrow, already have a couple paragraphs started on each one but I'm Gemini and I've got to have or be doing two of something somewhere! lol!

Date: 2008-03-20 03:52 am (UTC)I am in awe of what you have mapped out here. I think the research and thought you have put into this series is marvelous. Each story plot line is already drawing me in, breaking my heart, and getting me all excited to read.
I think what you have are some good plot lines. I would love to see the Tardis and Rose working together to save the Doctor at some point. Maybe proving for once and for all that the Tardis and the Doctor are part of a team.
Rose killing someone is an interesting take. In fact that would be something major to explore. What does it do to her. I kinda like that route, but at the same time I have a hard time imagining her killing anyone. I kinda see her on the verge but the Doctor stopping her- knowing what it could do to her.
I am exciting (and dreading) the coming of mother-in-law and ex-boyfriend, but I know that these two can survive anything, and have some sweet loving on the way.

I am fine with angst and anger, was expecting it really, and expecting a bit of possessive, jealous Nine (oh I would love to see a possessive jealous Rose). As long as there are still moments of fluff and relationship building than all will be well.

That's why I've only done four, ever (and one was years ago, I hated it and had to force myself to finish it, one's in progress and will be completed as soon as I come back from England, one's currently stalled because I was stupid and accidentally turned it into the story that never ends, and one hasn't escaped my hard drive yet because I've been so busy on the other one!).
I'm definitely looking forward to all of them (and have her get pregnant! I have a strange obsession with baby!fics)

Maybe it is your Flower Moon title that is inspiring me, but I kind of see the TARDIS as capable of a Tirawl-like dream time.

Such Fantastic Ambition!
Such a large project... I do hope you finish it.
Actually reminds me of a friend I used to beta for in another fan-dom. She had a huge outline for a giant project. It took years, but it turned out to be one of the best AU Fics for that fan-dom ever! (imho)
I wish I had the wherewithal to set something like this up and then write it, I just never have been able to pull it off.
Can't wait to read this as it progresses.

When I see things this creative and well done planned on this level, I am in awe.
I'm not much of a baby-fic person either, but I L-O-V-E your writing. I've been reading some of your other writing on Teaspoon - you make the idea believable and romantic, not silly and messy. :D
