Minor DW 603 Thoughts
I have two things to say about Curse of the Black Spot.
1. Eye patch lady is the new crack. "NOTICE ME! NOTICE ME!"
2. No infirmary on the TARDIS with life-saving equipment? For serious? There's always been a medical bay. One had a medical bay. Also, Doctor, you do have a medical degree. Granted it's from the 19th century, but come on.
3. Rory is better than Eleven in every conceivable way. I'd say except for the fact that Eleven can fly the TARDIS, but he can't really do that either, can he?
4. Despite all this, I rather enjoyed this episode. It was straight-forward, Amy kicked butt for her man, Rory was funny and dopey but still marvelous. You know, I like Matt Smith well enough as a person and even liked his acting in other things, but why couldn't they have cast Arthur Darvill as the Doctor and given him Rory's personality, because he is awesome and I wouldn't sort of not like the Doctor so much as I kind of do at times now? Or maybe not. Arthur Darvill playing Eleven as written by the Moff might make me not like him, too. Never mind.
5. Because apparently counting to 2 is hard, I like linear storylines. Don't get me wrong, I like timey whimey, but certain writer's are bad at it and make it make absolutely no sense. (I'm looking at you SM). This was a refreshing change.

I actually liked this episode, more than apparently most people, possibly because it was a relief to have an episode that was linear and easy to follow and where the plotholes were things like "LOLWUT ship within a ship with a mermaid nurse?" and not stuff like "I literally have no idea what just happened".

I KNOW LOL!!! This reminded me of Titanic in a way, where Rose is like "I'll never let go, Jack!" and then 30 seconds later she lets go XD
(Edited bc I can't spell)

I sense this is going to be one of those episodes that much of fandom hates forever because it's ~so bad~ but I am always kind of fond of because it is bad in a way I can tolerate and not, like, Cold Blood-bad.

But seriously, things like "LOL DISAPPEARING EXTRA" are at this point charming to me. It takes me back to a simpler time before 'timey-wimey' was the main mode of storytelling.

Love Rory, wish Rory could move to Pete's World fall in love with alternate Donna Noble (she's bit of a courgar, but he likes red heads) and have adventures with Ten II and Rose in the new baby Tardis.
bugging me
Oh and hello by the way! love your work so you'll probably be hearing more from me.
