I Have a MalWare or a Virus

I had to swipe my son's Netbook to send this post. I am hoping to get it off in the next couple of hours so I can send chapter 3 to beta. I have been fighting with it for most of the day, because it keeps hiding itself somewhere else. But I think I finally have the damn thing cornered.

Oh ugh! I am so sorry! Any chance it is salvageable?

Malwarebytes - a free program - is fantastic at cleaning up your computer from this kind of thing. Get it here: http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756 And you don't need the paid version :)

You do have anti-virus software running in the background on your computer at all times, yes? And you update the virus definitions? If you don't, or your software is out of date, and you'd like a recommendation for a good, free AV program, I suggest Microsoft Security Essentials (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security_essentials/default.aspx). We switched to that from Norton a couple of years ago and have no regrets. It does an excellent job and doesn't hog computer resources, and is also very easy to use.

Good luck getting your computer cleaned up!

Was going to suggest the exact same. Malwarebytes has saved my computer a few times, let me tell you!

Yeah, I use malware bytes and I have Kaspersky running constantly. I downloaded something questionable so it's my own fault. It's the first time I've gotten a virus on this laptop and it's putting up a fight.
