Time Eternal thoughts
You know how everyone's always worried about that if Ten ever had kids with Rose, and he was responsible for being in charge of them or one of them, he'd probably forget about them or misplace them or simply lose them because he saw something shiny and went to look at it? Well, I've been thinking about that a lot. And I've gotten an idea for a Time Eternal story. This one would be time-jumped to when Cassi is six and Dare is eight. So I'm writing the idea down now so I don't forget it.
Everyone always wants to know why the relationship between Cassi and the Doctor is so strained when she's an older teen and an adult. Aside from the fact that the child regenerated before she was born and was in a chaotic environment during the first several hours before Rose was moved into the Zero Room until the fetal regeneration sickness was over and that skewed her personality. Of course, there's lots of little reasons over time, but the big one was always how the Doctor stood between her and Daniel Harper and hurt Cassi's TARDIS (on accident) trying to prevent an elopement.
So I thought, why not start building up the why, starting with Ten taking Cassi out for the day because Rose thinks they need daddy/daughter time and Cassi not wanting to go because she doesn't want daddy/daughter time she wants to stay with Dare because he always pays attention to her, but everyone's insisting, and then the Doctor loses Cassi on an alien planet. Completely and utterly loses her. She doesn't wander off, she doesn't do anything wrong. One minute her father is standing next to her, and the next minute he's gone.

Cassi Tyler at 6
And she waits for him in one place like she's been taught by her mum for two hours before thinking she sees Donna and dashing off after the woman. Who isn't Donna. (Because it doesn't matter how many anvils they drop on her head in canon, in my universe Donna stays with them for as long as I want her there. {And Owen is still alive, so there.}) But the woman is rather sympathetic to the little girl and rather lonely herself...
I've got even more ideas for the story than that, but I don't want to spoil it too much. Just wanted to get the basic gist down before I let it fade, lost in the random roar of plot bunnies.

Now being a person who definitely gets distracted by sparkly things (I have ADD and Aspergers syndrome; google if you will) I can sort of identify with the distraction thing, men with ADD are far worse than women for that; sorry guys but it is true...
Another thing, I hope you dont mind me saying, but I would love for you to explore more the relationship Donna has with the kids. I feel that there is so much more there to tell even if its just a oneshot.
I think you have set yourself up, (for good or bad!) an opportunity to really explore the relationships here. Your series whilst damn good, has the potential to be very in depth and exploratory.
You certainly have it in you to do that.

I'll have to think about Donna and her relationship with the kids. I really haven't given it too much thought yet, since Dare's so young and Cassi's not born, but she is Dare's bond mother and she will be Cassi's, too, so yeah, I'll have to cover some of that, too. I can see at least a sweet one-shot with her holding Dare and thinking about everything the child means, not just to her but to Rose and the Doctor.

Hear, hear! Just remember, your stories (in my mind, for sure) ARE *canon*!
*Hugs ... and TARDIS cookies!*
