I have a theory of why Idirs lasted longer than Rose.The House used previous Time Lords to put together Auntie and Uncle.I'll assume he did the same with Idris.So,having bits from Time Ladies' bodies would probably be an advantage and wouldn't burn the body up,whilst Rose was pure Human.
And sure as Hell,I loved the old console room showing up in this episode!
