Five Times I Tried to Write A Five Times Doctor/Rose Fic

1.  Day One.  Open laptop, open blank Word document, promptly spill water all over keyboard.  Turn off computer.  Wipe up mess.  Wait for laptop to dry out before using again.

2. Day Three.   Open laptop, open blank Word document, stare at page.  Hear, "Mom, Grandma fell in the back yard and can't get up!"  Run out to help Mom up.  She's fine, just the mud was too slick to get up on her own and didn't do anything else but coat us both in it while I pulled her to her feet.  Chase all the chickens and ducks, who made good their escape, back into the fenced area.

3.  Day Four.  Totally get distracted by Battlestar Galactica and don't even open blank Word document that day.

4.  Day Five.  Get call from Elementary School--Your son has left school grounds and we cannot find him!  (He walked in the front door literally two seconds later while I was still on the phone).  Go to elementary school with said child in tow and deal with resultant fall out.  No real consequences as his reason for leaving was yet again a child messing with his lunch.  School got an earful about not stopping bullying in regards to his food allergies.

5.  Day Six.  Husband is home from Alaska and wants to snuggle.  Have no desire to protest said turn of events.   Doubts fic for this challenge will ever get written, but is still attempting to try since they've moved the deadline back a day.

silly idea

You could probably edit this to five times Rose tries to fill out a Torchwood report.

*dies* THAT would be hilarious. I second this!

totally agree, there's your fic, just tweak it a bit character wise

No, but that did spark an idea for Rose avoiding paperwork and I did get my five times fic written so thanks for that!

*sigh*

I never made it past the first part: Open laptop, open blank Word document, stare at blinking cursor.

I think the hubby snuggling takes priority. Lost kids and falling grandmothers as well.

But the last one could perhaps help with the Doctor and Rose :D

I see three very good reasons in there as to why I get writers block too. It will happen eventually hon and we all know it will be worth the wait.

Heh... that's perfect! *lol*

Those chickens and ducks are crafty fellows.

And snuggling with a hubby always takes precedence over feeding our Doctor/Rose addictions.

I would get distracted by husband cuddles, too. *smiles*

Hubby cuddles do take precedence over everything.

Somebody who wanted to cuddle with me would definitely take top priority over fic

Heee. Glad to see I'm not the only one with this difficulty this week! Although I could seriously post 5 titles and/or plots that I've thought of writing but just can't seem to get past the first sentence... Still, it's mocking me and I just can't completely give myself permission to walk away from this one, yet. *goes off to chase a new plot bunny, grumbling*

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." -John Lennon

And I definitely concur with the others, that snuggling takes priority over writing... =D

Sounds like a mental week where your priorities are all in the right place. :)
