TVD Thoughts
Well, I finally got to see the Dangerous Liasons episode of The Vampire Diaries. When Elena was escorted into the ball by both Stefan and Damon, I was in serious get a room mode. I really am at the point where I think the triangle should just become a threesome because the three of them together are way better than either pairing alone. Yeah, so not going to happen on a teenage soap opera.
I think my absolute favorite part of the episode though was that relating to Caroline and Klaus. First Caroline's reaction to the invitation to the ball, and then her opening the gift with the dress in it. The dress was stunning and you could tell she desperately was torn between wanting it because it was so beautiful and throwing it in the trash because it was from Klaus. And then giving in and wearing it anyway because PRETTY. So typical of Caroline. And I don't mean that in a negative way, just that her attraction for pretty things always tends to win out.
She was gorgeous in the dress (though the dress may have been made even more gorgeous by the fact that it was on her) and her excuse to Klaus for actually wearing it, about not having time to go shopping for a dress, was so cute. You know, Klaus and Caroline are not really a pairing I've considered, mostly because Klaus is Klaus. But they do look good together, the fair haired boy and our stunning Miss blondie. I've been more of a Tyler/Caroline fan, but with them sending him away for a while, it gets boring with no new infusion of stuff to ship over.
I hate being so far behind the rest of fandom. cwtv.com's (fox.com's) policy of not airing new episodes for 8 days is seriously making me reconsider not having cable. Watching next day is one thing, but 8 days makes it virtually impossible to participae in fandom without being thoroughly spoiled.

The only problem I have is they are going back to the old stand by, 'big problem? oh I know, let's throw a BALL!' It bugs me that it was supposedly last minute, and Caroline, who does pageants and is a total girly-girl didn't have a dress, but Elena can waltz in in an honest to god ball gown that she what? Had just hanging in her closet?
I know it's a silly, tiny detail, but it really bugged me for some reason, lol!

Honestly, I don't think Mystic Falls knows any other way to solve their problems other than to throw a ball.
I like to think Elena's mother had this huge stash of dresses that all fit her perfectly and she uses those. Or that big attic in the Salvatore house is full of gowns that came with the house.
As for Caroline, she kind of is the sort of girl who wouldn't want to be seen in the same dress twice. There were dresses in her closet but I recognized most of them from previous events.

I totally laughed aloud at Elena walking in with both Salvatores. And you're right, the dynamic between the 3 of them is what makes the show work, if it was only Stefan or only Damon it would be boring. Frankly though I'm reaching the point where I think Elena would just be better off alone.
What a stupid policy. You want to cut down on piracy? Give people legal ways to access things in a decent time frame. Ugh.
