Fic Update, Toys, and Plotting

Well, both A Sky Without Zeppelins and the next chapter of You're What? are rolling along quite nicely. The first is a little over 1700 words in and the second 1400, so both are about half done. I'm trying to think up something for a sequel to Body Paint, but all I'm getting is grumpy, uncooperative Nine grousing at Rose. Tried to come up with some smutty fluff for ladychi who isn't feeling well and all I've managed is a couple hundred words of hurt/comfort that is far more hurt than comfort and I don't think that will make anyone feel better. *shrugs* I'll likely just save it and insert it into a "the Doctor is being a jerk" chapter of something else.

On a bright note, I ordered my Christmas presents. I am such a child. I am getting the 5 inch characters from Doctor Who. Nine, Rose, K-9, Donna and Ten in his ghost hunting gear from Army of Ghosts because I wanted him in the brown coat and not the space suit. I also got the Talking TARDIS money bank, the one with Rose and Nine on the inside, not the one with Ten and Martha. I think I will be getting the TARDIS playset for my birthday in February. What I did not get was the sonic screwdriver. I read too many reviews on it that it broke too easily. *pouts* Not spending $40 for a glorified flashlight/pen if it's gonna break.

Was there ever a season one Rose produced or is the only option of her in that top from New Earth? Does anyone know if a season four Rose is going to be issued?

I also ordered the remaining Ten/Rose books that I don't yet own and 4 of the Eighth Doctor books I could find. I need to get a handle on Eight better than what is represented in the TV movie of him for my eventual Better with You fic that will include him. Besides the movie all I've to go on is fanfic, namely whochick's stuff, Emery Board's stuff, and the bit of him from Rallalon's Non-Linear Love Story. But since I want to be sure he's as accurate as possible, books. I'll get some more for my birthday, I think. That part of the Better with You series is ages away, though. First I gotta finish Hunger Moon and several more in between.

On a very bright note, I've started plotting out the last seven chapters of Of the Vortex Born. It's slow going but I think it may actually see an end now. If I get time to write it. DH was so lovely in helping me brainstorm it.

Every time I see mention of Zeppelins I get excited.

I think that is the only Rose there is; it's the only one I've ever seen & I've got it. Along with ghost-hunting Ten. I've asked

rozzietheaussie for Ten-in-a-blue-suit for Christmas, because I think it may be necessary. My Ten & my Rose live together between books on my shelf. They are hand holding, because I'm cool.

*laughs* Well, of course they are holding hands. How else should they be? My Nine and Rose will definitely be close! If they make a season 4 Rose with a blue suit Ten I will definitely get those, too. *grins*

Their hands don't quite fit right so they have to face each other for hand holding like so.

Also; my sonic screwdriver is fairly sturdy, I'm not exactly gentle with it & I've not broken it yet.

Tee hee. And how hard is it to make them snog?

i've been thinking about getting the ghost busters 10 (I want him in brown too...) but was wondering if the pack comes off ? 'cause I wouldn't want it on him all the time...

I may end up getting the 10/Rose/Cassandra pack if it doesn't...

all I really want are 9 and 10.

I have heard that the sonic screwdriver from thinkgeek.com is reasonably sturdy. Though it may be the same one you are talking about -- I'm not sure where you're ordering your goodies. (And I'd like to know, because that money bank sounds perfect!)

The one displayed there looks a lot better than the photos of the ones I've seen elsewhere. I ordered the bank from amazon.com. They have three different ones there. I went with the one that pictured Rose and Nine in it when you open the doors. The other two had Ten and Martha.

I've only ever seen them for sale on eBay now, though. I would've liked a s1 Rose to go with Nine, though he's not complaining about New Earth Rose, I have to say. ;) (And I have them dancing right in front of my keyboard. No, seriously, actual dancing. ;) Anything less literal would scandalize mini-Jack Sparrow and mini-Davy Jones, after all... ;) ) Ten is still waiting for his Donna. Awwww, hang in there, Ten! ;) I haven't heard about a s4 Rose one way or the other just yet.

I think that's great that you've got a bunch of DW things for Christmas! And ooo, I'm already envying you that playset! ;) \o/ ♥!

If that's a custom-made figure and not a legit prototype, then it's extremely well done. But I'm hoping for legit prototype! *fingers crossed* :D Just wanted to pass that along in case you didn't see it on your own! ;)

And I know what you mean, I desperately wanted s1 Rose but I never could find her reasonably priced on eBay when it came to adding overseas shipping costs. :( But, like I said, I'm happy with New Earth Rose and Nine has absolutely no complaints! ;)

It looks like it could be the real thing and if not, yes, it's very well done. DH found me a season 1 Rose still in the box and with shipping it came to $41. More than I wanted to spend and I would have been happy with one out of the box without the metal spiders, but he wanted to buy it for me anyway and I wasn't exactly saying no. It should arrive from England in time for Christmas. But I'll definitely want a S4 Rose if they really are making them, along with Blue Ten, and then when they release the Torchwood dolls next year, I am so getting a Jack and a Gwen. The Torchwood Jack is a lot nicer than the DW Jack, but still no great coat. *pouts*

It came! Rose's hair is a bit dark for blonde but it's a really good likeness otherwise!

I have my own sonic, as do both my kids, oh and I have the miniature sonic too, the one that is just the LED torch thingy. They are all fine really. Wish the same could be said of my daughter's laser screwdriver, that is so temperamental, though the one my son has is fine.

Go spoil yourself and get a sonic, you know you want one!

If you are starting to read Eighth Doctor books, you MUST read Father Time. It is the story of Eight and his daughter Miranda, saying nothing else! It IS expensive, but I managed to find a copy for £4 on Ebay from a bookshop in Cardiff of all places. I've just had a quick scan of ebay and there is a copy on there for $8.95, seriously YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

Another fantastic one is Gallifrey Chronicles. Again not cheap, but you should find it on ebay reasonable enough. It is a brilliant story and features the Ninth Doctor...

I just bought two cheapie sonics from Who North America ($9.95 each) for my niece and nephew, but the one I bought for myself a while back for something like $18 is larger and seems sturdier (it was a redesign after the first one was found to break too easily).

Yes, there is an S1 Rose and I've got her! The face isn't that great (much better on S2 Rose), but I couldn't resist.

I've currently got Ten in his brown suit sans coat (although I'd love to get one with the coat), S2 Rose, the ComiCon varient of Nine (with the green jumper), S1 Rose, K-9, and the Dalek from "Dalek" (with removable front piece so you can see the inside).

I really want to get that TARDIS bank with D/R (NOT D/M, thank you). Amazon.com you say?

Try eBay for some of this stuff. That's where I got Ten and S1 Rose. There are a million permutations of these figures (I got K-9 with Rose, for example). And if you don't care if it's not in the packaging (some folks buy the big sets and break them up), you can get them relatively cheaply, which is what I did.

Oh, hooray; I lovelovelove Eight! Especially paired with Rose, but you can't really do that here, since she's bonded with Nine, right? And you WILL be finishing 'Hunger Moon' soon? *Does Happpy Story Dance*

I got my sonic off of amazon for about $20, and it's been abused by my cat for months with no ill effects. I think it was the original design that was flawed, which has since been corrected by the manufacturer. You know you wants it... I ordered mine as soon as I found it, and it came with slightly psychic paper!

One day I'll remember that I'm almost 30 and shouldn't take delight in toy stores... I'm not looking forward to that day...
