Tosh has a hard time keeping secrets of any sort from the Doctor/John. He just has a way about him that makes it very difficult to not tell him what he wants to know. I know salt is the traditional edging in our universe. I like to put in little differences like that to show that this is an alternate world, so in Pete's World we have sugar instead of salt. I almost did lemon instead of lime as well, but thought that would be a bit overkill.

I so want to add a scene later on of Rose fiddling with his hair and him finding out she'd braided it. I probably won't though, but the idea of it makes me giggle. The TARDIS has a working chameleon circuit so it won't look like a Police Box. The drinking probably did help a bit to loosen their inhibitions a bit, but Rose would have told him soon in any case.
