Tosh is all kinds of awesome isn't she? I wanted to write her as very strong. In many ways this fic is going to be as much about the relationship that develops between Tosh and Rose as it is between the relationship that develops between Rose and John Smith. It felt to me that Rose needed a strong female friendship as much as, if not more so than, a love interest at the start of this story. Yes, he is a very cranky John Smith. It's gonna take quite a few chapters for him to soften. He might be a bit unlikable at first, but he will come around.
