Yeah, I realised I hadn't actually got round to seeing if I could locate anyone else from my old LJ friends list when I started posting more regularly over here.

A small group are still holing up over on LJ, but I deleted that journal, so... catching up with them is a bit more difficult.

And ick! That cold sounds awful! I've got a lingering bit of something but it is mostly just making me sniffly and tired. I'm half tempted to just make terrible jokes about being allergic to Christmas again, because I am often feeling a bit crap this time of year, but given there are far more live trees decorating public places here than back home, it might not be entirely inaccurate.

Figuring out plot points and cultural elements is always nice, and almost relieving at times.

Well, do remember that there are over twelve volumes of cultural notes about the Lord of the Rings. Sometimes these are just things that you need to know to hold your worldbuilding together. (But reading prequels can be fun.)
